I was told by a friend who works at a cell phone company that Verizon and Sprint coverage are comparable. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm leaving T-Mobile because while call quality is good, I can never actually start a call b/c I lose reception inside a lot of buildings (Samsung E715), so I NEED RECEPTION.

Maybe Sprint provides the same reception without the bad customer service and high prices????

wow i cant believe he would say that. Sprint SUCKS everywhere period. not to metion the fact that if they dont like you they will just terminate you. If you are considering the two please choose verizon its by far the best choice but dont go by me

Wow, I sense some hostility here, you're like the guy that gets mad and throws phones at people in the store! well I'm more than willing to bet that cingular's towers went up and interferred with the verizonwireless towers. I think its so funny that you can get so upset over a cell phone. I'm glad to hear cingular works better for you though. Sometimes things are just not meant to be.

It is impossible for a AT&T cell tower to interferr with a Verizon cell phone tower. They run on two different frequencies, GSM(at&t) and CDMA(verizon)

It is possible for a GSM to Interfere with a CDMA signal and Vise Versa at least here in the U.S. They both have different technology but both do and can operate on the same frequencies. The GSM frequencies is different in other countries.

It is also possible a for 450 mhz to interfere with 850 mhz.

There is another thing, have you ever heard of hostile cell towers?

Is there plans for Verizon to add CDMA towers in Europe where GSM is the proprietary mode of communication? The reason I ask this is because CDMA has better data coverage via EVDO and customers do not want to buy another phone with a SIM Card. Also ESN clones are more likely on GSM networks.
If Verizon added European coverage they could become an international company like TMobile and have subscribers in Europe use the services and vise versa. It would be cool to have Get it Now and VZ Navigator work overseas with such a network.

Most of VZW is owned by Vodafone, a big cell phone carrier in that area already using GSM technology. Perhaps there are plans to roll out more GSM/CDMA devices before technology makes another leap.

AT&T has pushed me over the edge, and the service I have is just simply unacceptable. Everytime I see their ads I get mad and want to laugh at how they are "raising the bar" so high that I can't get any calls!

Does anyone know any phones that I might be able to get overseas, or that are unlocked, that I can use with Verizon? Or, is there another option? Seriously - the service is that bad.

It takes me 2 hours sometimes to get text messages and voice mail, let alone be able to actually make or receive a call.

Please help!

Are you interested in prepaid? Myself I use Page plus. You can get some phones pagepluscellular com or Village pantry.

You can also buy refills at pageplus, callingmart, speedyway stores*

*Make sure they do not confuse it with airvoice or inpulse.

Checkout your coverage area using Verizon Coverage map for inpulse. To make sure your not in a roaming area. Also make you are not going to be in an area where verizon has to Diversified.

I've noticed many of you, mostly in somewhat rural areas, experience poor coverage on verizon. Never fear, there is always a viable solution within reach as VZW cell towers are never far.You can purchase what is called a network extender.i believe it retails for around 300$.there is no service to purchase it is a one time fee. This extender will strengthen the signal around it in excess of 5000 square feet.you can split the cost with your neighbors and you don't have to sit around and wait for a cell tower to be built which can take time especially when private property is involved.good luck!
