You'll lose everthing stored in your phone's memory, which would be the msg and the photos. you should transfer your photos to your computer w/data cable or IRDA before flashing. You wont lose your phone book unless it's stored in your phone and not the sim card.

Flashing the firmware is like copying over a file on your computer. You replace all the files that were there with the new files of the firmware. Your sim is like a disk. It is unaffected because it is not part of the internal phone memory. Therefore, any games you have will be replaced with whatever games the firmware originator had. Either way, don't expect to keep anything you didn't save to anything besides the phone's memory.
