Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone could help me with this situation that I'm in. Last week, I woke up to find the display on my SGH-S300 not functioning anymore. I have this blue/black screen on the main and outer LCD and I don't know what's happened to it.

Since the phone is only three months old, I tried to get a repair or replacement, but Samsung says it cannot do anything with the phone since it's not marketed in the USA, and T-Mobile says they cannot replace it because it isn't a "T-Mobile" branded phone.

As a last resort, I asked around on forums on the internet about this problem. The answers that I heard back were:

1) The blue/black screen is caused by exposure to extreme heat, and the LCDs need to be replaced in order to work again.

2) The S300 and A800 have software bugs that occasionally cause this "blue screen error" to happen. This can be repaired by "flashing" the phone.

If the reason is #1, then I'm just gonna have to live with an LCD deficient phone, but if the reason is #2, I was wondering if anyone could give me more information about how to fix my phone by flashing it...I'm a complete newbie at flashing, by the way...but I really want to fix my phone.

Thanks in advance for any info... icon_smile.gif

I've heard of it happening to other people but not myself. You can try flashing it since it won't harm your phone anymore than it has been. Go read up on the flashing thread, theres a lot of details there.

Well. Yes both answers can be correct, If u need to flash take a look here.

If ur screens are "broken" its probablt just the magnetic stuff between the screens has been broken, its just to buy a new LCD and ebay or maybe at ur nearest service center. Wouldnt be to expensive. Or your magnetic stuff between the screens may have just "droped" to another position and not between screens, as it has to be in order to work.

Actually, I have no warranty on this phone. T-Mobile won't help me because it's not a T-Mobile supported phone, and SamsungUSA won't help me because they don't manufacture or support the phone in the US. icon_sad.gif
