Hello all...

I brought my V600 from a "Phones 4 U" shop, On the O2 network, i'm very happy with the handset. So my girlfriend decided to get the same phone but from a "O2" shop.

I was going through the options on my phone and i started a chat session with her, then she told me that the option was not on her phone, on mine it's in office tools but on her's...IT'S NOT THERE!!!!

Does anyone know why it's not there and if there's anyway of getting it there??

I'm guessing it's noting to do with O2, and i've looked on the Motorola website and there's nothing there about it.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME!

Im not sure this is the reason but with Nokia handstes there are different product variants for each phone model. Although underneath they are all the same phones they have different software loaded into them depending on the network requirements. There are even quite substantial differences between PAYG and contract handsets on the same network.

I have an O2 V600 and I do not have option either. You either have a generic V600 (which is possible as the Carephone Warehouse has their own variants) or 02 are specificly uploading their own software with the chat option disabled.

You may be able to, but it requires some hacking of the phones software and I dont' know how to do it, but know it might be possible with PST, Midway or p2kman which you can get at : http://mobile.siterocks.com/programs.html

There is also an interesting "howto" : http://mobile.siterocks.com/howto.html

Might give you a few ideas...

It's not on my contract O2 V600 either

Right, I had the same problem today. My boyfriend "chat" me and i replyed. We had a little convo and thats it. Later that night I sent him a text message, which he replyed with chat. I asked him to stop it but apprently he wasnt doing it, and just texting me back! I had a look through my phone coz I havent got chat option in the office tools. And i found it! Now, tell your girlfriend to:
1. Go in to Message Inbox
2. Read any text message
3. Go to the funny symbol in the text message inbetween "Back" and "Reply"
4. Go down to CHAT and select!
5. It will ask you to end current chat convo or summit like that, say yes.
HEY PRESTO - the little chat symbol on the top of your screen is gone!

Hope I helped! icon_biggrin.gif
