Hi,
What is the latest firmware for my C100?
My current is C10XXWF1, but my phone does not support wallpapers and screensavers.
I know that there is a newer model out, that has an other User Agent.
Now my questions are;
1) Is there a possibility that when I upgrade my firmware, my phone supports wallpapers and screensavers?
2) What firmware should I use (preferred language is dutch)?
3) Where can I download it (the sites in this forum all seem to be down)?
4) What software should I use to flash it?
Thanks in advance

Don, great forum you have here. I just finished reading the rest of this thread and thought I'd share what I have:
1. For backing-up the X105 firmware, OptiFlash 3.6.0.5 worked for me, but 3.7.0.1 gives an error (old flash loader).
In 3.6.0.5:
| Quote: | | I E39 05:52:11 AM Flash loader version: V4.13 |
In 3.7.0.1:
| Quote: | I E54 05:50:40 AM Flash loader version: V0.2
E E55 05:50:40 AM Legacy flash loader detected. (0.2 < 4.27) Unable to continue.
I E56 05:50:40 AM SendFile: 19 (ERR_LEGACY_LOADER)
I E57 05:50:40 AM ReLoad: 19 (ERR_LEGACY_LOADER)
I E58 05:50:40 AM Error code: ERR_LEGACY_LOADER
E E59 05:50:40 AM Sorry, an error has occured ! (ERR_LEGACY_LOADER) |
For flashing the X105, both versions seem to work fine.
2. For the X105, "press the power button on your phone" means turn the phone off. If the X105 is already off, unplug it from the cable and plug it back in. I've always had the power cable plugged in thru the data cable, so it flashes with or without the battery connected to the phone.
So, my usual sequence is:
a. Turn-off phone.
b. Remove battery & SIM card (just for safety)
c. Connect cable (with power connected thru data cable, set to Data on switch).
d. Start OptiFlash: when it gets to the 'Hit On/Off Button' part, it just goes without me doing anything to the phone.
e. After flashing is complete, put the phone back together.
3. My X105 came with X15UVWI1 firmware (dated Wed Sep 03 12:07:05 2003), and the replacement T-Mobile sent me this week had X15UVWL2 firmware (dated Mon Dec 22 21:06:38 2003).
I ended up keeping my original X105 (my Send key was going bad for a while, but seems to be working now and the replacement's screen looks washed-out all the time, no matter what the contrast is set to), but I've updated it to X15UVWL2 and here are the changes in X15UVWL2 I've noticed vs. X15UVWI1:
a. Contrast scale is 6 notches darker (old 0 = new 6)
If you set contrast to 0, *#0LCD# (*#0523#) gives:
6 (8 0)
(menu: 0)
On the older firmware, contrast 0, *#0LCD# (*#0523#) gives:
11 (8 0)
(menu: 0)
b. WAP browser now defaults to 'prev' for the left virtual key in the text-entry box at wap.google.com, instead of 'Options'
I haven't noticed anything else. If you notice anything else, or want help modding your X105, see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/X105_mod_squad (that I just set up).
4. Just replaced my X105 again (the mic and speaker went dead). New one has a newer firmware X15UVDB1 (dated Tue Feb 24 00:10:57 2004). Here's what I've noticed different:
a. Contrast scale is back to WI1 range.
b. WAP browser acts like WL2
c. 3 new wallpapers: T-Mobile CZJ, T-Mobile Race, Grassland; removed Cube & Planet.
5. Here are the firmware files for the X105:
http://www.ida.net/users/oe1k/phone/X15UVWL2.zip (11.4 MiB)
http://www.ida.net/users/oe1k/phone/X15UVWI1.zip (11.9 MiB)
http://www.ida.net/users/oe1k/phone/X15UVDB1.zip (11.2 MiB)
(Don, if you'd be so kind as to mirror them on your ftp site I'd appreciate it, but these links should be fairly permanent too, so ppl can use either)

Edit: To unlock X105, x426, x427, e105, e715, etc. see http://cellphoneforums.net/t118967.html
Edit2: Added new X15UVDB1 firmware

In my foolhardy efforts to unlock this phone, I ended up with the dreaded "Phone locked. Return for service." So I decided to try to flash the firmware. Well, I did a backup (only afterwards noticing that it seems to have 2 chips and I forgot to add the extra address to the options in Optiflash.) And so I tried to flash it with Optiflash 3.7, which failed due to a legacy bootloader error (v 0.2 < 4.27 ? ) So I used Optiflash 3.6.0.6 ... which appeared to work. Now the phone will NOT turn on. It will respond, in a sense, if I try to flash it again - hitting the on/off button seems to have the desired effects.
So, the question is, how can I fix this phone? Does someone have an e105 firmware that will work on this phone and get me back up and running? I don't need new features, I just want to unlock it and get rid of that evil message...
Thanks a ton in advance for any help you can provide.
