> I E13 14:35:49 Stack buffers: 2

> I E15 14:35:49 1: 0x01000000 - 0x01ffffff [16 MB (16777216 Bytes)]
the second range is the same which you mentioned in your tutorial.
when i backup my firmware the save.sre file has about 96 mb whereas all downloadable firmwares on the net have around 50 mb. when i look into them they obviously don't contain the whole ranges, just portions of them. the last addresses are within the range 0x012xxxxx. after i removed the camera sounds from my phone i made another backup of my firmware just to compare it with the old original one and there were many more differences, not only the camera sounds. i guess it also contained some new photos i took with the cam.
when i share my firmware i obviously don't want it to contain ANY data of me, though i'm not sure anymore if i will ever share it cause i already discovered a few newer revisions and it really seems that samsung (or optimay) is pushing out firmwares every few days.
anyway the exact ranges should be useful in case i want to flash my backup back because of errors or after trying other firmwares, so i won't overwrite any important data from me.

The file is 96mb because you backedup both chips which is good to restore your phone in its originally state. But if you want to share it with people on the internet only backup the 2 preinstalled ranges :
0x00000000 - 0x00001fff
0x00004000 - 0x00ffffff
The range 0x01000000 - 0x01ffffff contains the following data:
- Phonebook numbers that are saved on the phone.
- Wap settings
- MMS settings
- MMS Out/Inbox
- Java Games
- Bookmarks
- Wallpapers
- Melody's
- Photo's
- Video's
- Wap Cache
- And a few other phone settings.

first, don, thanks for your help. maybe i will try to compile a list which describes what data is in what memory. all the downloaded firmwares also contain the melodies but not the games etc. i guess. i also found the camera sounds in them but not in my own backup until i found your tutorial which states the third range.
che3300, i also experienced this problem when i used only the 2 preset ranges in optiflash and i already feared that i can't remove the cam sounds from my phone because the downloaded firmwares had all sounds but mine didn't. but after i found dons tutorial and tried the third range i also found the sounds in my firmware and i removed them.

| Code: |
W E62 10:04:50 Error: Unable to open file "C:\Opti3.7\sl_sceptre3_nice_std.sre"
I E63 10:04:50 ReLoad: 10 (ERR_WRONG_FILE_SL)
I E64 10:04:50 Error code: ERR_WRONG_FILE_SL
E E65 10:04:50 Sorry, an error has occured ! (ERR_WRONG_FILE_SL) |
i searched or it on google and somebody else had asked this question earlier but i couldn't find an answer. I run WinXP Pro and have a P400...
Oh and yes, of course I read the tutorial. I followed it step by step.
