Hi Don and everyone,
I thought I will try to reach you here. I am in USA using T-Mobile. My original phone is:
Model: E715
HVer: Rev E7 1.0
F/W: Rev E7 1.8 E715UVDC5
I would like upgrade my F/W to E71XXXDF4. I already did, but, when I put my sim card, I can't get any signal. Someone from this forum said that DF4 F/W is only for 900/1800 frequency and that it will not work in USA?
If that is true, is there a F/W out which will support 1900 freq.? Please recommend and let me know where I can get latest F/W.
My goal for upgrading to newer F/W is I like to utilize the Video Recording and other options that are nor avail. in my DC5.
Thank you

Hello,
I am also newbie in here. I just finished reading whole topic...i am still not sure what should I do. I have E715 t-mobile with vodafone. When I type *#9999*, there is only 52Samsung...should there be model?
Only thing I want to do, is get rid of vodafone stuff (and t-mobile). I don't want to lose any feature and I like to keep finnish language, and european band... (someone has lost flash...someone has lost something else...I don't want to lose any features )
I saw those good instructions in first page, so I think that I can manage that flashing. But what would be right fw and right tool?
DON...someone else, help me please

Flash your phone with DE5, its a e710 non branded firmware, and you wont lose anything with that. there's a latest DF4 firmware, but i dont know the diff between DE5 & DF4. I have been using DE5 and its good.
it has got 17 diff european languages.
@ love_2_crack
you already have the latest E715 firmware. in US you cant use the E710 firmware cos its 900/1800 and you need 1900. thus, you cant have the video function. you have to stick with DC5 until samsung releases newer e715 firmware.

Hi Dope_e710,
I appreciate you clearing up my question. I would also really appreciate if you can let me know when similar F/W like DF4 comes out for US phones where it will work with 1900 freq.
Thanks again.

There is no similar firmware available for US. I can't say for sure that it will never happen but you can come in to check from time to time.

Get DF4 which is newer than DE5. The firmware is all similar, same amount of languages. I just flashed mine with that last night, no problems so far. you can get it from http://e710mod.altervista.org/pagine/firmwares_originali.htm
IMEI will only change if you use Januka to mod the firmware before flashing it to your phone. If you are gonna mod the firmware, i suggest flashing the original unmodded firmware first, then you can create mods with januka, but instead of saving the whole firmware, create .s3 files to flash the mods. That way, your imei won't change.

Need help please...
I just flashed my Samsung d415 with the d410 firmware. No matter which one I try, I get the same issue. Basically, after flashing, the screen goes into a startup screen and then turns black. The black turns from grey to black and back to grey with no image. Also, the buttons go from turning blue to turning off. None of the keys work and it just keeps doing this.
Has anyone experienced this. Im sure there will be questions about backing up. I received instructions from another person first on using the software and didnt know that backing up was an option. I am a noob and this was my first time flashing a phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Don(or anyone who can help me),
Sorry if you've answered this question many times before, but I have dial-up and don't think I could stand going through 75+ pages of reviews,
so........
What are the advantages and disadvantages of flashing my e-715?? I have the right data cable already, I'm just wondering if there are ways to upload larger ringtones, and such........
Thanks,
Josh
