I bought my s300 when it first came out in europe (march 2003). It has many bugs (speaker volume too low, weekly alarm goes off everyday and so many more...) and lacks some features (vibra and ring at same time, caller id,add sms tones...)
I'd like to upgrade it because it's the smallest phone i know off, and I dont want to change it.
My version is :
s1.6h
S30XXWA2
I spent hours today looking for two things :
1/ latest firmware with european languages (with improvements if possible)
2/ meanings of firmwares (is it alphabetical ? country coding ? etc...)
The 'latest' firmwares I found are from 2003.
Thanks for helping me get latest s300 firmware.
chris.

Hi,
I'am new in this board.
I have a Samsung E708 (chinese model) bought in Taiwan. Can I update firmare with an Italian version, like E700?
If I can where can I found the correct firmware?
I just have the software to download (downloader 3.3). Is it correct?
Thanks for all support,
A kind regards,
Geordy

This one goes out to Don ~ Diego.
I followed your steps to backup my firmware (prior to flashing the phone with Optiflash). I get an error message each time I try to back it up: "ERR_FLASHTYPE". What the heck am I doing wrong?
I have the Samsung E600. and tried all 3 optiflash: 3.6, 3.7, and 4.something. I'd appreciate your assistance.
I'm using WinXP, a USB data cable, and my firmware is: E60CDZDI1

well i solved my problem reading some other topics and forums!! I just changed the Model of my telephone in settings!! I put E710 and it works just fine !!
But as i saw the new firmware just didn't erase the previous but just overwrite it !! THis means that i didn't loose any pictures or names or everything of my settings! I have even the same language as in the nfo of the firmware says that there was no greek language!!
The phone is working great with no problems! But is this normal ?
Thx

on my e715, using optiflash(tried all versions), i can't back the firmware on my cell.
the optiflash program is all setup correctly, everything is fine in that department i hope
but when i click on backup and goto press the on button for 2 secs (like it says in the extended tutorial), nothing happens. the program doesn't do anything.
i've tried this with all the optiflash versions listed on the page.
my e715 firmware is:
Rev E7 1.8
E75UVWJ3
however, if i'm using esygsm to upload pictures and melodys, it works perfectly fine(the cable)
and i have no idea what kind of cable it is, all i know is that its USB, there no switchs on it or anything so.
but also, i have x105 aswell, and since the cable fits into this phone, i tried to back up the firmware on this to see if the cable is the problem or not. and it WORKS.
EXCEPT that i get an error that says that the specified flash loader isn't supported anymore
but back to e715. i dont want to flash the phone then get some error and have it mess the phone up, and not be able to reflash it back to original(which i dont have cause it wont backup).
any ideas why the e715 wont turn on?
