A quick clarification on your phone as well as mine. I have a E715 and I encountered the same problem. What happens is, as long as you can use EasyGPRS to upload stuff to your phone, you can use Optiflash.
The trick is, NOT to have your SIM card inside your phone. Also, do NOT plug your phone in until it says "Hit On/Off Button" on Optiflash. Then all you have to do is plug it in. If it doesnt automatically start, then there's something wrong, and install a different version of optiflash.
I hope that cleared some things up

i'd like to display japanese web pages on my european sgh-d500 (and, if possible, type in japanese characters).
is there any firmware/patch available to make it support it more unicode characters?
maybe i can do some work of my own... does anyone know of the cpu(s) and other internals of the phone?

im currently using an E800 but its loaded with orange firmware... E800BVDF9
I would like to use an unbranded firmware on it, but cant seem to find any on the net, anyone got any ideas where i can find E800 firmware and which firmware do you think is the best to use?
Ive also heard you can flash the E800 with E820 firmware...what are the advantages of doing this? Does it give the phone any extra features?

Hi
A friend gave me a Samsung X426 that he found lost in the street. I want to put the X427 firmware on, so I could activate it with prepaid Cingular so my son could use it.
I downloaded the X427 firmware from a working friend phone and tried to upload to my X426 using the Optiflash 3.6 but I received some errors like these:

Ok i know people have probably already asked this question...but here goes:
I've just recently bought the D500 from Orange UK and they've put this really ugly menu system on the phone. Would anyone know where I'd be able to get the original firmware loaded onto my phone?? Or how I'd be able to do it myself...without stuffing up my phone! Thanx
