Hello Guys , I'm a newbie
Hello Don, I have some questions, if u dont mind...
-I made a backup of my firmware (E700, E70BDWL1) with dumper1.8 and a an PCB133LBE serial
After 20 mins, it came out 16.777.216 bytes.
I tried to back up my TFS with same prog, but after 11% of process
gives me an "Unknown Dump Error". Do you know what's that?
There is also a choice of a "flexible file". What's that?
Is there any other progs to do the same job? Please don't tell me
Download 3.2a full, it has only flasher, not backup. I also have
SGH-E700 Dumper 3.3 but gives an error at the begin about
utility.uir. (pretty large message).
-Do you know any help in English for Januka 1.2.2? In the site, there
is only Italian.
-Does the Samsung DIY 3.3 work for E700?
-I use Easy Studio PIMMS and Filemanager 1.0.0.1XB1 for my phone book.
But it's only allow me to write 10 characters in name's entry! Why? There are
names longer than 10 characters! I heard "handset manager 7" can provide solution, but
it needs its own cable (MA-620). Any other solution?
-A friend of mine has put with "Handset manager", .wav inside the phone! Not wav that is mmf!
Plain wav! Do you know anything about it?
That's all Don
I'm very very very very sorry for this long message, but I read at least a 2 weeks various forums...
Thanx

If you really want to flash your E700 skip the backingup procces cause you can't make a complete backup of your firmware with the tools we have now.

Hi Don
Thanx for the help about Januka.
Where can I find DIY 3.3?
The 10 characters of names, on the phone... I use the phone and not sim because it has multiple entries per name.
As I saw, 11khz mono 8bit, about 8 secs.
Thanx again

If so 10 is the limit of your phone.
Cool didn't know the E700 can handle .wav

10 characters isn't the max of the phone. With "Handset manager", my friend has upload to phone 25 characters for name!
Unfair but true...
But you are guru!
If you know any other tricks to "play" with the phone
plz tell me, ok?
Thanx

Don , my friend, I have a tough question for you.
Can you explain me the firmware (E700)?
I mean:
You open the bin file with Januka and you go to polyphonic ringtones. Firmware scan and then some adresses (files) come up with filesizes. Which one of them is ringtone, sms sound or other sound? I export one of them, but it was protected and i couldn't listen it. So I can not recognize them. Any help for listen them?
I don't ask you about pictures, because it's to messy. I found the help file you told me, but it was very very brief and I left it aside for a while.
Any info about the structure of the firmware is welcome.
Thanx...

When you open a firmware with the Januka, click on automatic scan or firmware scan on each of the pages (8-16 bit compresed, ringtones... ). After the scan click ok and somewhere in the left side you'll get a list of images from 0 to 600 (i don't remember the exact number). To change one of the images there you have to click on it (you'll see the image on the phone display on the right) and then double click on the display. Choose your image hit open an hit replace. You'll be asked if you want to change your image with the one on the display, click ok. That's the way to change a image.
Now to the ringtones. You'll need PSMPlay 5.0... it's a player for mid, mmf . If you know your way in windows, go to a midi file and (or) a mmf file, right click on it, click open with, choose program and there give the path to the PSMPlay 5.0 and mark allways use this program to open this file (or something like that).
Now at the Januka, open a firmware (if you don't have one opened), go to the ringtones, click firmware scan, hit ok and now you'll get a list in the left side with all the sounds in the firmware. To listen to them just doubleclick on one and if you followed the previous step i gave you , the PSMPlay will play automatic the selected file.
Hope this helps, cause my fingers hurts
Any more questions... here you'll get your answers.
C ya
