Hi Don...
I would like some advice please....
I have a samsung D410 with D418_AY6 software/firmare on it. I have been doing some research and found out that AY6 is prerelease software. I want to update the firmware to the current D410 version.
I have never flashed a phone, but am confident enough to follow the steps and give it a go using the optiflash software.
Do you know if it posible to update the AY6 prerelease software with the latest D410 firmware?
Also, if i make a backup, and the firmware update doesnt work, will i be able to restore the phone back to the AY6 using my backup?
Do you know anyone who has successfully turned their D418 into a D410?
I don't really care about branding, as long as i can remove the "GPRS" logo from the middle of the screen when it is indle mode...
Thanks in advance...
Luke

If the flashing fails you can always flash back with your backup.

Hi, what type of data cable do i need for the D410? I have tried using a data cable made for the E700 et al, but i don't think it is working with the phone, i keep getting error messages from optiflash. Bad platform, and so on...
Also, can you use a USB cable or does it have to be serial??

How do you find the firmware version. So far I've been only able to find out that it has "Rev v1.8" using *#9999# . Thanks in advance.
There are a few things that bother me. If you put a cell phone number& home number under one contact, when you go to the recent call list (by hitting dial) you dont know which number you are about to call. It doesnt display either cell or home or the number even.
I also find that the volume is too low and I have to listen very carefully. Is there anyway (besides the volume onthe side) to change the volume?

It's a D410.
Using the codes listed above I got:
*#8888# | " HWverMP1.3 "
*#7777# | " D410XXDE1 "
*#1234# | didnt work
How do I find out if this is the most up to date ? Thanks
