Samsung phones are great for reception and some can be used in Europe. V205 is a great phone if you can find a new one. E105 is good too but not tri-band.Good Luck

My advice: Stick with Cingular, T-Mobile is horrible.

May say say dcsapper check the coverage first before you take the leap, the coverage map on the website if you enter your zip code will give you an idea of how the coverage is but if you are able to contact Customer Care or email them with at least the city, state and zipcode the coverage maps are more accurate and you will know before leaving if we offer the coverage you want, the range is from great(what you want), good (outside not inside of buildings), fair and no coverage

The retail T-Mobile stores also have access to these coverage maps so you can actual if allowed you to see the map and the information, if there is a site issue or problem on the area this information will appear with the estimated time that the issue will be resolved.

OK the UK you’ll need a handset that offers the GSM frequencies of 900MHz and 1800MHz so at least a dual-band handset, the other perks you can check, to call from the United Staes to the United Kingdom will cost .99 per minute and to call from the United States to the UK is at .29 per minute and the country code is 44.

The website has this information available to you
You sound like to travel to the UK on a regular basis with the cost .99 per minute you may want to just purchase the local sim card which is cheaper you can check our affiliate for the cost t-mobile.uk.

Unfortunately there is a 90 days wait for this you must have at least 90 days of active service
In order t get the sim unlock code that will allow you to use another sim card

Sending text messages fro the US to the or outside of the US is .15 per text message.

Good luck in your decision

if you mean in the sense that t-mobile has better reception , more minutes, a one year contract, and better customer service than cingular, then i guess t-mobile is horrible

I just switched from Cingular because after several years of being a customer they treated me like they did not want me. They wanted me to sign a two year contract to get bad prices on a new phone. My wife has been with T-mobile for over a year and loves them. Everyone I have talked to (in person) really likes them.

I also was with cingular for 3 years. I made the leap a month ago. No regrets. When cinguler merged thier service actually worsened. I don't miss them a bit.
My daughter used to work for T-Mobile and while she hated her job she loved T-Mobile service. She was right haven't had a dropped call since I changed. Samsung E105 is a sweet little phone. Good luck.
