in the US, it goes either way, cellular (cell) phone, mobile phone, wireless phone, and lately "handset." Then again, in the US, many words describe one thing anyway. A while back in the early 90's, the was a difference between cellular and digital. Cellular technology faded and digital technology is what we all use now across the globe. Funny thing is, we still call them cell phones, not digital phones.
