Each time when I open Easy GPRS, I received "Cannot open port and this program is switched in offline mode. After, try to switch in online." But no matter what I did, I couldn't get it online, why? Does anyone experienced this problem? Thanks!

It might depend what phone you are using (you do have a phone plugged in, right?).

I have come across this before and there are two things you can try. Firstly, plug phone into your (off) computer and switch on both. Then load up Easy GRPS and see if it works. ok, maybe not. Then check for any updates under the Help menu to make sure you have the latest version.

Ok, if still not working, select File, and then Setup. Change your port to either 4 or 5. or the last one that it says is available. Press ok, and close the program. Then reopen the program and see if it works, which it should. If not, try using the different ports.

For future ref, F3 switches between on and offline modes.

cheers,

Nick

I have a similar problem, I get the same message "Cannot open port and this program is switched in offline mode. After, try to switch in online."

I have a Win 2000 and i use my laptop in user mode, and am trying the IRD Port for connection.

However when our Helpdesk guys use the software in Administrator mode the software works fine.

In user mode, when i go to setup no ports are visiable. Thought in the administrator mode when i go to setup the ports are visiable. My system administrator tell me that there are no restrictions that should stop the ports to work.

Also i am able to use other devices that have IRD.

Please help!!!!

first time i tried downloading my photos from my phone through COM 1 i was successful. But right after i closed the Easy GPRS and re-opened it i got that stupid error.

i hit [F3] a couple times and i get the same error popping up.

i tried going to setup and switching to COM2 and hitting F3 and my [OFFLINE] status changes to [SGH-E317] and the buttons on the top are now available but still not functional.

pinche programa!
whats the point in buy software from SAMSUNG if they are just going to rip you off.

anyways...im looking for solutions.

I've had the 'After, switch to online' problem at first and I had no idea how to switch it from offline to online. I read thru the whole help file thing, screamed in frustration, browsed thru the forum discussions, tried some of the suggestions, cursed in frustration, and then I checked my ports and enabled them all, checked my control panel and made sure everythin allowed data transfer and I also searched for the drivers n managed to install the driver for the data cable im using.

Not only that, I also downloaded one program after another every time one doesnt work, so now i have like 3 progs in all~ -___-.. 1) Easygprs, 2) PC studio PIM & file manager 1.0 and 3) PC studio II PIMS & file manager.

I even restarted my laptop. I checked under system and hardware n device etc and made sure everythin was working well. finally it stopped saying "cannot open port, switched in offline mode..after switch to online mode" thingy, THANK GOD. Nick's F3 tip was real handy too (thanks, man).

But yet I STILL cant transfer my pix from my fone to my laptop coz the program still cant read my e715. when i press F3, from 'offline' it now says 'nothing' -__-, but at least now the light bulb is yellow instead of grey.

I also tried the suggestions in other discussions made by Don n others abt changing the speed n the ports n then restarting the prog etc, but nothing seems to work (dammit). And the weirdest thing is that all 3 progs i have say diff things -__-. for easygprs i cant click on file manager, for the second prog i cant click on reload, for the third i can go to file manager but when i reload it says 'cant read messages'.

Urghhhhh this thing is driving me nuts. Anyone, please advise and put me out of my misery. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
