My infared connection to my 6610 will not work. I have a Wiretek, IrDA Wireless Bridge, which seems to connect with other infared devices, however, when I try and connect with the 6610, it keeps loosing the connection. I use windows 98, and I have downloaded the latest Nokia PC suite.. 5.1. The phone tells me it is connected, but PC Suite will only sometimes find the phone, but it then within a few seconds, will come back with... no phone is connected. Can anyone help me sort it out... Ive spewnt hours trying to look for somewhere that will give me an idea on how to overcome the problem.....

I had a similar problem with mine which I have since fixed.
When you activate infrared on your phone and place it next to your IrDA receiver, wait for the "Another computer is nearby" message to popup, then right click on the icon that appears in the taskbar and choose Properties.
In the Wireless Link window that appears, click the Hardware tab. Select your device from the list and click Properties.
This is the part where I'm not certain that it's the same for you as what I have on my PC, but here goes...
Click on the Advanced tab (if you have one, if not then you're out of luck, my solution won't work). Under Properties select the Infrared Tranceiver Type and change it to one of the others. Experiment with the different types until you find the one that works the best.
I had four tranceiver types to choose from and only two worked flawlessly. The other two frequently dropped their connection. Not sure if the above helps but good luck.

In addition to SupaStar's suggestions, also try to set your Maximum Connect Rate to 57,600 bps. This worked for me.

The first time I tried sending wallpapers to my phone was yesterday, it worked! used nokia data suit (via IrDA), but later that night, ok, iit (laptop) got my phone's signal (same as before) but then (eventhou it still shows in the taskbar that there IS a connection, the Nokia graphics converter wont upload any image to my phone, the button is just unclickable)........ i may have to try mobiMB later today.

I fixed it!
ok while the laptop has somewhat detected my phone, but the phone is still searching for a connection (blinking icon on top), goto the control panel and choose 'nokia connection manager' (switch to classic view if you have to) and click on IrDA button, it will establish a succesful connection with your phone (well, it worked for mine) and my phone stoped searching. Now their connected.
