I don't think that tri band capabilities is only software - otherwise all phones would have tri band. But if you are right - does that mean that with the right software I can make my phone tri band ?

they are the same. They just name different D415 since it with T-mobiles . 5 is t-mobile code. d415 can record video.

what is advantage of tri over dual? i dont leave the country and would like the pic id. what's the status of this?

Another difference is that with the D410, you can disable the text display on the LCD screen. Nothin' but wallpaper.
