Did you ever get any suggestions for downloading ringtones for the lg c1300.I am having trouble also.

i have a lg c1300. i've been able to get free polyphonic ringtones for this phone and previous phones by making a free site and putting midi files on it which you can visit on your phone's web browser. however, i can't seem to find out what type of files cingular uses as "super tones" as i would like to be able to make free ones for those. if anyone has any information on what type of files those are and how i can convert my mp3's into them please help me out. thank you.

I could not fine a list of files usable as ringtones in the user guide. After a week with this phone, the seller showed me a statement on the outside of the box it came in. It says it is polophonic compatible. It does not list WAV, Midi, MP3 or other types of files-- nor does the manual.
I was able to download a file with a .mmf extention and it did work. I do not know anything about that type of file. I did find a site that has free files that can be downloaded. I guess they are polophonic. They sound a little funny, but my download did work. One of the workers at the place I bought it told me about the site. MyPhoneFiles.com I understand they also have a Cingular website that has ringtones. I do not know if they are free.
If anyone knows how to convert MP3, Midi or WAV files to polophonic (or .mmf) please let me know.

Here's where you can get a tool to convert .wav to .mmf
Wave to SMAF Converter
I used Audacity to convert some of my .mp3 files to wave and make 10 to 15 second clips.
Then I used LG GSM software Contents Bank to download it to my phone useing a USB cable I found on ebay for 6 dollars. It can be used for images too.

So how do I go about downloading this to my phone...I got a free site, and I have the .mmf file loaded to my site, and the only thing on my site is a link to the .mmf file, I thought that would do it, but it wont work..what am I doing wrong?

With the c1300 I get an "Error: CME-3" when I try and download from the Contnents Bank software to the phone. I called LG and they told me that the software never was supposed to work (its broken) and that the only thing that will work is the PC Sync software that allows you to put in your phone book (that did work).
Any reason why? Is there a hck for this to make DL for ringtones and pics to work?
