Hi all,
Is there anyone that can help me?
I'm trying to find a way to play games on my nokia 6230 by uploading them onto the smart memory.
When I put *.jad files on the memory card the phone does not reconise the file type.

You need to install the games from a computer (or via wap).
jar and jad are needed to install a game/app on a Series 40 phone.
And afaik it is not possible to install stuff to the MMC.

Hey all,
I just have trouble installing a game on my 6230.I know that it supports only jar files because these are the only types the Nokia Application Installer sees. They said in another forum to convert my .jar.zip game to .jad using JAD Wizard and install it but it does not work. Anyone have any idea how I should do it?
Thx

You don't convert the jar to a jad.
JADgen generates a jad-file which is needed to install the jar-files because it contains some needed informations.

Thx for answering Bjoern but the problem is that I have a .jar.zip game and I need a .jar one. Do you know how to do that?

any jar file is in fact a zip file with specific contents. So just rename your .jar.zip file to be only .jar, and there you have it!

you simply need to download the latest version of nokia pc suite from the nokia website. once you've connected your 6230 to the pc via bluetooth, infrared or DKU-2 cable, double click on the game files you want to install (the icons should have 4 coloured squares representing a nokia application installer file) it should guide you through the rest with the nokia file browser
