does anyone know how to set an mp3 as a ringtone for use with calls and alarms? or is there a special realtone format for these, and if so is there a utlity to convert mp3 to this format.

I heard the branded K700i's do not allow you to use MP3's as ringtones. If yours is unbranded then just go to the profile section and change it right there.

Vodafone branded K700s have this problem. U can get it unlocked and flash it to the latest international fw version.

Where? I heard there is new software on them so that at the moment no-one other than SE can do any software flashing.

What I meant was that u can get it unlocked anywhere and then update it to the latest fw version through any service centre.

ah, right. I am going through the grief of a vodafone branded K700
I have spoken to SE UK and they told me that they can't/won't change the firmware to remove the vodafone branding. I have also spoken to the carphone warehouse and they one person said if they try to remove the voda branding, it just comes back once you insert the sim and it connects to the network, another said they can't do anything with the K700 as they have only had it for 2 days and have no software for it yet................
I'm running out of time on my 14 day cool-off period and I'm going to have to give them the phone back at this rate - I want mp3 ringtones !

This is just a suggestion. What u can try is get hold of a K700 with a O2 connection thru Expansys. Since u are still in a trial period, u can return the current K700.

after a bit of research I now have realtones on my K700 with vodafone. I converted the mp3 to AMR file format and bluetoothed it over and I can use that as a ringtone, althought its not very loud, does anyone know how I can increase the volume of the file ?
