Hey all,
I just got my SE K700i mobile phone. It's truly an awesome phone.
BUT, I have a rather big problem with it: I can't switch it on anymore .
It worked fine yesterday after fully charging it, but after I switched it off, it won't switch on. When I hook the phone to the adapter, the powerbutton becomes a red light. I was hoping it was due to recharging or something, but after a night on the adapter, it still doesn't switch on and the light is still red.
I tried removing the battery for about 30 minutes, then place it back in the phone, but this also didn't help.
Does somebody have:
- The same experience as I have? Maybe with other SE models?
- And maybe even a solution for me?
Kind regards.
Update:
I just removed the battery, hooked the phone to the adapter and noticed that the same red lights is on, again.
This could mean several things:
- Some kind of shortage in the phone > red lights turns on.
- The phone doesn't see the battery (logically, because there isn't one inserted), but it doesn't see a battery when it is inserted > Battery failure > red light turns on.
- Something else?

I'd advise you called your phone provider and ask them. I'm probably insulting your intelligence but have you tried the following:
-Reading the manual (sorry to be so insulting, but it's surprising how many people don't - i'm usually one of them!)
-Checking the battery connections (ie. between the battery and phone)
-Checking the back cover is on tight enough so the battery connections 'meet'
-Making sure the connections are clean
However, it sounds like you've tried all this so i'm sorry if it isn't any help. If it isn't, try getting in touch with SE or your provider.
It'd be really cool if you could PM me and let me know the outcome - i'd like to add it to the FAQ section of a website i am building relating to the K700 at present!
Thanks a lot,
Joel

Hi ya guys
I too faced the same problem the red light getting turned on... when i checked with the manual it stated that if the k700i batery is completely exhausted... it'll take around 30 mins to get the charger indicator on the screen untill then it will be blank... so allow it to charge without disturbing it and after a few mins u can c the charger indicator after which u can turn on ur mobile.... i dont think thats a serious a serious problem.... I think its quite annoying whereas in other company mobiles u can use the mobile when its getting charged...eventhough the battery has been exhausted......... Comments are always welcome..
Bye

1st of all remove the battery and just plug in the charger
And then the screen should go white and then off repeadadly
Anyway while the screen is white quickly pop in the battery then the phone should burst into life and go to the chargeing screen and then just turn on as normal
ps this works on most sony erricsons so if u was ever to find a totaly flat battery and u was to put it in ur phone and the led showed a continues red light just try this

uhm you could alwyas try to reflash your phone since it could be a simple problem with the software.
follow the instructions for se-nse.net for the xs++ flashing tutorial and make sure you back up your GDFS
