Dear all,
I intend to trade-in (or sell off) my 6610 to get the 6600 this week. One of the key concern is the existing contact details in my 6610.
Read somewhere in the forum that you can do it easily over mobile software Oxygen but unfortunately may not have enough time or money to purchase it. Is there any other easy way to do it.
1. Can I transfer all the contact details from my 6610 to 6600 via infra red?
2. Will it be practical to copy all the contact details from the phone to sim card and then install the sim card into 6600?
Anything I need to be aware before purchasing the 6600 ...like I heard that the Symbian phone "use" up battery far more faster than the 6610. Any negative review of the 6600 so far?
Since I don't intend to use the 6600 as mp3 player and neither am I concern about the non-stereo sound of it...I think 6600 is a good buy. Any other comment on the 6600?

With the 6600 comes a PC Suite, and with this PC Suite it's more than easy to synchronise the contacts with the 6610.
Oxygen Phone Manager II is crap... tested it, followed every step, never worked.
For the two points:
1. From phone to phone: yes, but one by one. Phone to computer to phone: yes, with PC Suite for 6600 (newest version on nokia.com)
2. The SIM card can only save numbers wih names, nothing more. If a contact has more than one number it will make a new contact for each additional number and it's alot work to "correct" this after switching.
Phone to computer to phone is the easiest and fastest way to do.
Yeah, the battery drains quite fast... 2-5 days... depends on usage... normally I've got to charge it every 3 days.
The 6600 is still a high end phone, but it's gonna be the low end of modern symbian phones soon. But the prices dropped much since the release of the 7610, which doesn't really offers much more features or rather features advanced but they don't preponderate (my opinion).
Before buying the 6600 you should see it "live" and realize the size some people are afraid of the size

Thanks for the tips. With that in mind would it be possible to do the following
1. Copy all the contacts in my 6610 to the PC using the Nokia PC Suite (download from Nokia website).
2. Copy back the contacts from the PC to the 6600 via Nokia PC Suite again
I was told that the Nokia PC Suite for 6610 is not compatible with the Nokia PC Suite for 6600. If that is the case, what is the best way to copy all the contacts in my 6610 to the 6600.
Thanks for the tips again

They ain't compatible, that's right. But the PC Suite of the 6600 allows you dataimport from different phones. So you just import the data from the 6610 and upload it to the 6600.

Hi Everyone,
I have got a Nokia 6610 with me now, and i am planning to buy a Nokia 6600. My concern is, Can the text messages stored on my "My Folders" list in the Messages->Text Messages Menu be transferred to the 6600?
I have got about 150 very important text messages, and i want to transfer it to the new 6600 phone....
I had asked a Nokia Dealer whether its possible, for which he said that it cant be done, coz the format of the message in the 6610 differs from that of the 6600....
So can anyone help me on that plzzz....
TIA,
Jefferey Rayan
