Obviously there are more than a few of us LG victims. Not only does that shoddy Korean "let's just get the product out the door" company suck, but so does Verizon for stringing me around for A YEAR on this battery deal. I spoke with LG corporate over a year ago subsequently proceeded to inform Verizon of what I had found out about their batteries much earlier, and of course that mine hadn't worked good for 6 months.

Verizon's response was "Well, it lasted you six months didn't it?"

Read and digest people. This is what 21st century customer service in America is about. It's bad enough that we teach the Chinese our particle physics knowledge in OUR colleges while our kids get bumped out due to our own lack of school funding,, (now the Chinese have both manufacturing and technological intelligence) further burying ourselves deeper and moving closer to the day we run dry as a country as far as manufacturing anything. What exports. Why export when we've got Sony gear stacked on our docks?

Quality has gone down, and the economy suffers too, and why? Cheap ass "hurry-up" manufacturers like LG who can produce so cheaply because of labor that "unionized" America doesn't stand a chance. They don't care either. They live better there now than ever before. Unemployment there? Ha.

Now as far as Verizon is concerned. I believe they're still mostly an American company (like it matters anymore?), but when Cingular offers my roommate a new phone every six months because it's "time to upgrade" (just bring in the card!)... and I have to claw, scratch, bite, and cuss my way into making Verizon let their tight hands go of a freakin battery (another counterfeit), then get charged for it, and told by the Verizon suits you can't upgrade phones without cancelling your two-year agreement and then start out anew again... I'm pissed.

Ya think I'm a happy little customer? WHere's that happy little "Can you hear me now fellow, who by the way is NEVER seen saying that while standing inside a building, cardboard box, etc. I feel like a postal employee about to go"postal". I am soooooo sick of Verizon I could, and have, spit! "Well it lasted 6 mos. didn't it?" wasn't the answer I was looking for. In fact, even in the days of my first hourly job after lawn mowing (McDonalds) I never exhibited customer service like that. Ever. Even if I knew the customer was wrong. Let's get a freakin grip on what the hell is really going on here.

America attitude is getting pretty "Who cares as long as it doesn't affect me". How many of you knew that a few years back that U.S. Steel, at one time one of the largest steel producers in the world, closed it's doors because the Koreans were producing it much cheaper. Yeah it's shitty steel but who cares right? I rest my case. Batteries... Steel. Labor... It really doesn't matter. The transaction of selling this country by the pound is almost complete. Forget learning Spanish. There's a bigger , more necessary language we'll be needing to learn pretty quick... Pass the fortune cookie baby... Welcome to NEW CHINA!!! No racial jabs here either. They see the opportunity here. Us. We just want to have a civil rights arguement about everything. People. THEY WANT TO KILL OUR CHILDREN. And you're worried about whether or not they get burned by a cigarette from one of ours? Save the whale... What the hell about saving America. Screw the Iraqis. It sure wasn't my idea to drop CARE PACKAGES in /?Afghanistan either. The world has got to be chuckling over that one. WE ended the 2nd war by CARPET BOMBing Europe. No one said shit about care packages then. It's funny how all of the "free love, and peace kids aere now in charge and doing totally unconstitutional things like making it illegal to smoke a cigarette while outdoors walking down a residential street (Ojai, CA). It seems like free loveis starting to really cost us now. Hey sa\ve some money... STOP THE CARE PACKAGES. Bomb's work fine on their own. Put a patch on those bleading hearts. We've saved enough mico-organisms and trees. Let's save this country huh? That's right... you'll actually have to put down that Fleetwood Mac album and DO FREAKIN SOMETHING EXCEPT WHINE ABOUT EVERTHING. And No... now that I'M done whining myself, I think I'll go write a letter to a soldier in the middle east and tell him he's appreciated. Ol Kerry couldn't give a shit about those guys. He and Nader... typical. Let the ex-hair group keep up the whine about everything else that's wrong with the country.. Like the way we treat OUR POOR LITTLE ENEMYS WHO HAVE KILLED OUR BROTHERS, SISTERS, AND CHILDREN.. Not sure which faction is worse. THe Clintonese or the Klingonese. Beam my ass up and out of here.

P.S. Verizon offered a phone replacement to me this afternoon to "make up ffor that dog LG TM-510 and guess what.? Yup. They offered me another LG model. Sheesh.I cant wait until people in this nation start to really look and see what's become of this place. Franklin and Jefferson (not Bill C's dumb Jefferson ass) would roll over in their graves if they were able to see the directions we've taken.

"Geez Thomas J., why are they all bleating?"

Boycott LG, Boycott corporate crooks, boycott the terribly biased media whose idea of news isn't current events, but a car chase.... and most deservedly, the Verizonians, for their idiocy in customer service basics.

Another P.S. Why o these companies charge both parties for the call. Does anyone remember when there was a time where the person making the call paid for it. If that isn't double dipping, then I'm a "Clinton's" uncle.

Yeah, but most of America STILL thinks he was a good president. So sad the myopia.

Someone write back an allow yourself to vent a little too. Feels good. And we didn't even have to drop care packages.

I've had my VX 4400 phone for nearly two years now. It has been doing extremely well. I've dropped it, dropped and kicked, dropped it in water once, and it is still going very strong. It picks up signals well, and has the best organized menus compared to any of my previous phones.

If Motorola would quit making phones with 10 year old cell phone menus and interfaces I would go for it again. All of their color LCD phones and newer models, barring the V60 series really bites. They don't tend to do near as well in reviews on any part of their phones. I'm not sure what other company is US that does any cell phones.

I've had my problems with Verizon, but I've had them with other companies also. So far though they have the best coverage, customer service is usually very responsive. The only bad things I can find with them tends to be pricing. It costs 9.95 on most other carriers for a family members phone, but 19.95 on Verizon, and PTT costs MORE than a regular call. WHY BOTHER. The PTT feature uses less bandwidth than a standard call and takes less time. It saves them money for you to use it, but they charge more for it. I like the idea, but I WON'T fork out the money for it until they make it more reasonable.

I will refrain from responding to the political commentary since this is a mobile phone forum.

My stepdaughter has a VX10 that she uses. It was dropped in a swimming pool, but still works. The battery was fried and we had to let it dry out. Only problem now is that the LED on the front stays on which drains the battery.

Maybe they are kind of like cars. You need to get one that is manufactured on a Wednesday. (referring to an old Johnny Cash song) icon_redface.gif

Wow, man, wow.

Although I agree with your politics, I think you're being a little hard on LG. Yeah, they make cheap stuff, but so does Ford and Chevy.
I try to buy American whenever I can, but it's getting hard to even FIND anything that's 100% Made in the USA. Oh well. Nothing I can do about it now - just like the UNConstitutional laws against guns that VIOLATE the 2nd Amendment, it's something that should have been dealt with long ago.

Anyway, I've only had my two LG's for about 6 hours now........don't know about the battery thing.....I think my parents are having a hard time with their batttery too.
How much does a new battery cost anyway? Can't be that much can it? I hope not. ( I know that's not really the point - tis' the principle of the thing - I hear ya...)
ANyway, I hope you find cellphone-peace, man. . . . maybe take up fishing or something...don't let it ruin your day.

GO USA.

I agree that Verizon has it issues along with every other company. I have had, At&t, Cingular and now Verizon. I am most happiest with Verizon. I have an LGVX6000 that I bought of Ebay. About 5 months of having the phone I had dropped it a few times. One day the reception just went cur chunk and was no more. I bought into a verizon store and said my cignal is no more what gives. They told me oh well your software needs to be updated. So I sat for 30min and waited for them to update the software. Well low and be hold they stated your software cannot be updated. So they just gave me another LGVX6000. Which I was greatful for, except the fact I lost all my ringtones. And amazingly enough when I called verizon Cust service they gave me a 30.00 credit for the loss of my ringtones, I am batting 2 for 2. But back the original post here, with such a high demand for cell phones and all the different companies trying to make them better and better, theres always gonna be something wrong with them. But over time they do improve. Take a new car for example the first year of a new car or body/engine styl always has kinks and bugs they have to work out and over time most are improved with exception of some of course. Cell phones being the same way. This is my first LG phone and it has not given me much trouble at all, but there are people out there with the same phone that do have problems with it. But in any industry you can sell 10,000 of the same item and 3000 may have issues. Same with cell phones. So I guess its almost like a game of luck sometimes. On other views Verizon does have a lot of unfair crap, I know but than again so do other cell phone providers. If you dont know Cellphone companies have the most complaints filed with The BBB. And when I had AT&T there was a class action suit filed against them. All I got was a 20.00 calling card out of the deal. Waste of time if you ask me. As many issues that I have with verizon, I think they are the best cell phone company out there. Think about all these other companies like T-mobile, AT&T, Cingular, they keep changing there plans and offers. Verizon hasnt changed stuff in years only added a few minor things, like the in-network calling and pic messaging. But they dont need to keep changing special offers. These other companies keep having to change offers like AT&T and cingulars. There GSM frequency is extremly low and the phone have very pathetic recption inside of a house. T-mobile I am not to familar with they are on the 1900mhz frequecy but as far as I know the servcie area is still garbage according to many people I know with T-mobile service. If you take all the facts into consideration your just gonna end up screwing us all in the end. If a group of people were to file a class action lawsuit in the end the price plans would go up, to compensate for loss of money. Cost of phones will most likely go up too. Than where do we turn one of these other crap companies. I know Verizon and everyother provider bites at one point or another, but I just say the heck with it. Sometime I wish I didnt need to have a cell, but it has become a nessacity for me, and I am just a cellphone nut too. icon_cool.gif

Verizon Wireless has its policies and regulations for a reason, Of course being a rep myself, I dont understand someone saying "well it lasted you 6 months didnt it" as an acceptable response, The upgrade policy is in place though... we are not like any other company... no we dont use sim card...and the reason other companies DO upgrade phones every 6 months or whatever... is because *thats* their selling advantage to us... if a mirrored company of Verizon wireless (same network...same capitol)and they offered a new phone every 6 months they would bottem out... can you imagine the load on the retail stores if every 6 months you had to get a new phone...take a new promotion... get pro-rated... cuastomers comming in with enormous bills...very unhappy.

On the LG issue... every phone LG has made since the lg-vx3100 seems you be a VERY user friendly..and reliable phone. I see hundreds if not thousands of users who are very happy with LG phones. EVEN 510's... there is a battery issue...with certain battery models...but not all.
