yeah all im a newbie so ill start with hi,
my gilfreind found a phone(7250i) at a dance club she works at in brisbane she handed the phone into the local cop shop and forgot about it,well last week she got a call to pick it up as it hadn't been claimed so i put my telstra sim in it and fired it up,alls good except when i try to make a call it says "this handset is locked to the telstra network trala,la ,trala,la.does this mean i can only use another service providers sim (ie)vodaphone,optus,or does it mean the whole imei has been blocked??? please explain!!!any help greatly appreciated!! cheers brandon

Have u tried putting some other operator's sim in it? What happens then?

yeah hi,
ihavnt had the oppertunity yet as all my family and freinds are with telstra ,i was just trying to avoid going out and buying say a vodaphone one only to find it wont work? thanks for the suggestion though thats what i might have to do...cheers brandon

Yeah, try putting another operator's sim in it and see what happens. Also try and check the IMEI with your provider and see if the phone has been reported as missing? Many a times, the operators block the phone acc to its imei if it is reported as missing/stolen.

yeah cheers for helping dude,
i just got my brother inlaws sim and put it into my phone it is a virgin red sim all was good fired up phone even had reception were i didnt with the telstra sim!.anyway i tried to make a call,this is were it gets weird ,i dialled the number of my home phone all i got was a weird mixed tone from the mobile headset ,no pre recorded msgs or anything just a do,mi ,so type tune an wouldnt make the call???any ideas havnt copped this one before?? i figured it might be locked so ive got an unlock code coming so i can try it out,thanks again mate brandon

yeah i just got two unlock codes sent by email took my sim out and entered details but neither of them seem to work they both reply code error i heard i only get three attempts at entering the right codes or its all over is this correct wat should i do

If the phone would have been locked, it would tell you
As it didn't, it is not locked. Sounds more like a phone which is reported as stolen/lost and is blocked.

Yes, thats wat im thinking too.
Like i said earlier brandon, contact your operator and check if the fone has been reported missing. If the phone is indeed blocked, there is nothing you can do that will make it usable, unless the operator removes the block.
