I keep pressing the smart key by accident when the phone is closed.
This means that my profile keeps changing by accident - it's driving me mad as I keep missing calls when it goes to silent.
Can I disable this key or change it's function.
The fact that this phone keeps changing it's profile when I don't want it to makes it untenable.
Any ideas?

I did the same the first day I had the phone - switched it to Silent and missed a lot of calls!
Can this be changed - even via external tools etc?

on my phone you first have to hit the lower button on the left, then change the style with the upper button.
i hit it often too.
what i listen for is that noise it makes, and i pull it out right away and fix it. but i am unaware of a solition.
however i have seen a post about a case that protects the side buttons (its a plastic belt clip unit) that fits the phone. search the forums and see if you can find it.

hmmm - not really impressed with this phone - fatally flawed.
Surely there must be some way around this problem?

Take a look round Howards Forums I seem to recall that there is a way of locking these buttons

One option is to lock just the "ring style". To do that go to Settings->Security->"Lock Application". select "ring style" and lock it. The factory default lock pin is 1234.
