my phone a nokia 3100 accepts pccch support (*#7220#). how do i disable it??? my phone continually asks me to insert the sim card, and even though its in, it cannot recognise it. i changed the sim card, and tried many others and have ven sent it in to nokia for repairs, but the problem always arises again. any suggestions???

i think the pccch support is causing this and so i need a code to disable it.

I am a NOKIA 1100 Mobile hand set user. IMEI no is -edited-. I want to know the CODE for activating and deactivating ENHANCED FULL RATE (EFR) for NOKIA 1100 Mobile hand set. These code for Nokia 3310 is respectively *3370# and #3370#, but these codes do not act in nokia 1100. I need such CODE for 1100. Please help me by providing these CODEs for NOKIA 1100.

Regards,
-Shohag (-edited-)

-edit-

Since it is disallowed by Nokia doing firmware upgrades on your own, there won't be any tutorials for it.

Yes. But my concern was about telling it at least.

Firmware updates:
Firmware updates are not provided online by Nokia. The device can be updated to the last firmware version available, but:

- it has to be done by a technician that you can find in some phone stores which are indicated by Nokia on this web site ... (Nokia support web)

- you have no way of knowing if a new firmware is available because Nokia don't communicate on that. The only solution is to browse Forums on Internet and hope someone will say that its device has firmware version xx.xx.xx which would be higher than yours

- if you find that a new firmware is available, you have no way to know what are the enhancements / bugs corrections because once more Nokia don't communicate at all on that issue. Lets one more time hope that one of the users in the community will do that job.

...
