Got a "new" V600 from ebay. It worked absolutely fine for a month, but now it won't send/receive texts or phone calls. The SIM card works fine in a different phone. The battery's fine too, as other features on the phone are working.
Can't reset to manufacturer's settings, as don't have the original security code.
Any suggestions ... anyone ... please?

Many thanks, Jemo. Have tried another SIM in the V600 and it doesn't work either. Been in touch with the ebuyer seller and they are sympathetic, but unable to help. (I was trying to see if they had the security code so I could reset the phone.)
I'll try motorola. (Fingers crossed.) Should I just contact them via their website, or do you know of a better way in?

Thanks, Jemo.
I phoned Motorola and they were very helpful. They gave me the code to reset the phone to the initial settings, but that didn't work. I've to send the phone to Motorola and they will check it for faults (for free, no charge) but they suspect that it wasn't unlocked from it's original T-mobile settings properly. We don't have a T-mobile signal here, so need to be able to use it with an O2 SIM. They suggest that I get in touch with the original owners of the phone and ask them to get the 8 digit subsidy password for unlocking/unlatching it.

I thought I would just post the end to this story. I managed to confirm that the phone was not on any stolen list. Motorola took the V600 back, put new software on, put it back the original settings (ie locked to T-mobile), tested that it worked and sent it back to me. I then paid to get the phone unlocked (as we can only get an O2 signal where I live), and it worked very very very occasionally. 99% of the time it refused to make/send phone calls or text messages.
So back it went to Motorola again. Same thing. O2 checked it out and confirmed there was something wrong with the phone. They even put this in writing. So I sent it back to Motorola for a 3rd time. This time they even replaced the camera, although that was never faulty. And it still refused to work with O2.
I had paid to have in unlocked 4 times, by 4 different methods. Motorola have refused to replace it, as it has been unlocked. Instead they offered to check it over for a 4th time. But what's the point? If it won't work after they have had it for 3 times, a fourth isn't going to make any difference.
So I've bought a cheap T-mobile sim card, checked that the phone works with it (by asking someone travelling to a T-mobile reception area to test it out), and am now going to sell it on ebay as locked to T-mobile.
Have lost a great deal of money on this phone and will never EVER buy a Motorola mobile again. Am recommending to friends and family that they do likewise.
