I'm getting really fed up with missing calls on my T610, It seems that the phone rings only three times before diverting to voicemail.
Try as I might, I cant seem to find a setting for adjusting the delay on this - can this time be adjusted or is there a firmware update that fixes this?

G'Day,
M8 this is not a phone setting, the time it takes to divert to voicemail is a service providor setting. I had the same problem, What you need to do is call Vodaphone ( i did this with Telstra in Aus) and ask them to set the ringing time to the longest possible, Telstra set mine to the maximum which is 25 rings, You might want it shorter than that though,
I thought it was a setting that i couldn't find as well, i got so fed up that when i called to ask about a different issue i asked the question and they were able to help me
Hope Vodaphone can do the same thing for you,
Hope this helped,
Comander

I found the answer... and you're quite correct that it is a service provider setting. Thanks for the heads up.
You can however change it on the handset by sending the correct string to the provider - see below. The one below sets the time to about 25 seconds before diverting which is about right for me. changing the 30 at the end for a lesser or higher number increases or decreases the interval.
**61*?????**30# then send
The question marks being your network provider code which can be found http://www.m-99.co.uk/Mobile_Phone_Unlocking/Service_Provider_Network_ Codes/service_provider_network_codes.html

(Using Sony Ericsson T630 on 02)
I just tried this and it certainly increased the ring time, but I noticed that after doing it, my phone wouldn't then divert to voicemail. A voice would say "please hold while we transfer you" but then nothing.
It would divert to my voicemail correctly if I pressed busy, or if my phone was off, but not if I just left it ringing.
I found the cause of the problem by going to:
Calls, Divert Calls, Voice Calls, No reply, Get status
(this will be specific to your phone)
It reported back that divert on "No reply" was indeed active but that on no reply, it would divert to 023410.
It was no co-incidence that 23410 is the "network provider code" I'd entered as part of the initial command. O2 was interpreting the "network provider code" as the number I wanted to divert unanswered calls to.
After quite a bit of trial and error, I realised that actually the correct format of the command (at least for my setup) is:
**61*xxxxxxxxxx**zz#
Where:
xxxxxxxxxx is your voicemail number without the leading zero. Your voicemail number is a number unique to you (at least on O2 it is) and you can probably find this by looking at the status of your other diverts.
zz is the number of seconds you want it to ring for before going through to voicemail. This must be a multiple of 5, between 5 and 30 inclusive - ie. 5 or 10 or 15 or 20 or 25 or 30.
Hope that helps someone!
Sorry for the length of this reply. Brevity was never my strong point.
Nick.
P.S. since i wrote this, I just found some more detail here:

Note that I've only tested this to work for SonyEricsson T630 mobiles on the O2 network but it may well work on other providers (since the commands should be standard I think) and on T610's. Should work on other phones too but the menus will be different.
Also - in my experience, if you send an illegal command, it'll tell you.
1. First of all, make a note of your voicemail number (this is a secondary telephone number on your account which will always go through to voicemail).
You can find this by going to:
Calls, Divert Calls, Voice Calls, No reply, Get status
You'll see a message appear with something like:
Divert Calls
No Reply
Voice Calls
Activated
+44xxxxxxxxxx
where the xxxxxxxxxx is your personal voicemail number without the leading 0.
(As an aside, this is also the number you should dial from abroad to pick up your voicemail - you press * after you get an answer and enter your PIN number)
2. Now go back to your home screen and dial as follows:
For a ring length of 20 seconds, type:
**61*xxxxxxxxxx**20# (and then press send)
For a ring length of 30 seconds, type:
**61*xxxxxxxxxx**30# (and then press send)
you get the idea... but the delay must be in multiples of 5 (with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 30 - ie. 5,10,15,20,25,30)
3. That should now work, but double-check that your phone goes through to voicemail when:
- you're out of coverage - test by switching your phone - (Not reachable)
- you're already on the phone or you press Busy (When busy)
- you don't answer the phone (No reply)
If for any reason, your phone will no longer divert to voicemail in any those instances but you want it to, then to fix this, you need to go to:
Calls, Divert Calls, Voice Calls, {When busy | Not reachable | No reply}, Activate
Then type in the number you recorded in step 1 above.
Done (hopefully)!
Any problems, please contact your service provider, not me!
Let us know how you get on with your T610 on Orange.
