Hi
I just got a 6600 and the pc data cable but can't get oxygen to recognise it, even though its the symbian version of oxygen, looked around the oxygen forum and found this reply from there tec support | Quote: | | Technological cable for Nokia Symbian-based smartphones doesn't suit for data synchronization purposes. You can use this cable for technical service needs only | , not 100% sure what that means but I assume it means I can't put tones and the like on my phone with the cable.
Had the same result with MobiMB, couldn't even get my phone recognised, even though I tried it on all ports and everything else I could think of.
So my question is can anyone recommend me some software that will actually recognise my phone and will allow me to do all the usual stuff.
cheers for any advice

Hi,
I am not the expert here but I face similar problem. Just bought my 6600. Apparently there is no cable and there will never be any cable for 6600 that can connect your phone to the PC. You can only connect it via infra-red and bluetooth.
I connect my 6600 via infra-red to my laptop. I am able to use all the function in Nokia PC Suite (comes with the phone in a CD and can be dowloaded through Nokia website) but I am not able to use the Oxygen Phone Manager. I have tried most of the version from 2.02 to 2.23 but non works. The PC is able to detect the phone but the OPM did not.
Prior to my 6600, I am using the OPM for my 6610 using the same laptop and infra-red without any problem. Not sure why?

The PC Suite for the 6600 is much better than Oxygen Phone Manager. And i believe there is a separate oxygen s/w specially designed for symbian phones.

Yes, no cables.
Abhishta is right, there is a seperate Symbian version of Oxygen Phone Manager II.
MobiMB was never designed for Symbian Phones.

yeah I have the oxygen designed for symbian phones, its still not regestering my handset. but then I have it connected via the cable, so maybe thats my problem. Oh well, it seems I may have wasted the cash on the cable

Well i can say u r not the first one. Lots of people on the forums here have bought cables only to release after some time that they have wasted their cash.

To tell you honsetly, when i had my 3650, i tried the OPM Stymbian version myself, but it really sucked. The PC Suite is much better imo. It is just as flexible as any other s/w out there.
Try using the PC Suite first. If that doesnt work for u, then go for OPM.
