ive narrowed down my selection to a 6610 and 6100... my big question is..
why is the 6100 more expensive than 6610 when the 6610 is just a bit bigger but has an FM radio and all the features of the 6100? I would think they should have at least the same price... is there a catch?? why is this?! it is around $60 more... which seems a lot..

The 6100 is thinner and lighter than the 6610. For me, it's worth the extra cash. Depends on your needs I guess.

True, the 6100 is slimmer and lighter than the 6610. The keypad of the 6100 is a little hard to press, kinda makes it difficult when you're playing games. The 6610 keypad is a little softer and easier to press.

I beg to differ! I MUCH prefer my 6100 to the 6610/7210/7250. I like the keypad better! I'd say pay the extra and get a 6100! I prefer my phones very light and small

I agree with burgerings.
When I was figuring out which phone to buy, 6100 or 6610 a month ago, I read tons of reviews on the net!
Basicly, the only difference between the two phones are:
1. Design
2. Size
3. FM radio (6610)
Other than that, the 6100 and 6610 are identical speaking of features!
But what tipped the scale in favor of the Nokia 6100, for me that is, is the speakerphone!
The speakerphone, which allow you to speak about 60 - 70 cm away from the phone (handy in cars or writing down something...) and was first introduced in 7210 and in 7650 I think and ater implemented in the 6610!
I've never tried the speakerphone on the 6610 my self, but in 3 reviews, 3 different authors wrote that the speakerphone has finally been perfected and indeed usably in the 6100!
When I sit in front of the computer, most of the time, I use the speakerphone and it's so good, that people can't tell the difference whether I speak directly in the phone or are using the speakerphone!
I always use my MP3 player whenever I'm in a bus or generally walk in the city.... so no need for the radio.... I prefer my own choosen music!

So in the end, other factors also influence how you chose your phone.
Maybe the 6100 is aimed at those individuals who love music and already has their own music player (mp3 player) and the 6610/7210 for those that doesn't.
<--- I love small phones (I had a 6510 once) but I learned that I require one that isn't too 'vulnerable' when in my bag/pocket, so i sacrificed size and weight for durability.

Well, another thing in favor of the Nokia 6100, is that according to many reviewers, the 6100 has a more sturdy build than the 6610!
One reviewer wrote that, after a couple of days using the 6610, the phone suffered from the notoriuos "Nokia squeeking" from the cover!

Actually, due to the 6100's cover design, it squeaks *much* worse than the 6610.

I haven't notied it... had my Nokia 6100 for a little over a month now and it's not squeking.... yet!
Basicly, and I think that peple will agree, that whether it's a Sony-ericcson, Motorola, Samsung.. all cellphone wil be "squeking" in a matter of time and use.

My 6100 squeaks and the keys are firm...but it is the slimmest, lightest Nokia and that suits me best. I have no regrets.
The lack of radio is not an issue since I drive everywhere and can listen to whatever radio station or CD i choose - all in much better quality.
If you can't justify the extra cash, get a 6610. I don't think you will be disappointed, it's a great phone.
