Same here, I have bought my E700 a year ago so my warranty has been out of date. Anyhow, my trick to live with it was to open the screen just at half/middle. Today that trick didn't work anymore, but I think I never buy a samsung again. I know a lot of people who have problems with their E700. For the price that I bought my GSM that is not acceptable quality.
Anyhow I have to download my contacts so now I have a BIG problem because the screen is totaly dead ... somebody a solution ?

One way is by using a data cable and PIMS from Samsung. However, I am not sure if you want to further invest on the cable if you don't have one yet.
