I would like to update my software, but dont want to purchase a docking station if it does not work. Can someone advise if Orange UK, allows upgrades of this type. I have read that O2 UK does not permit this

Any clue on when the Z1010 update service is due?
The reason I want an update is to fix a Daylight Savings time sync issue, so if anyone has any ideas about how to fit that without the update, I'm all ears!

I have a K700 and the dss-25 desk stand, although because I have T-Mobile for service the online update won't let me update my phone. Does anyone know which US service providers allow you to update your phone? Cingular perhaps? It might help if you post which service providers don't work too.

Finally there's software update available for Z1010.. I gather that you need a 'sync station' in order to perform the update, but I can't really see what a deskstand can do that a usb-cable can't?

Where did you find the Servive Update for the Z1010 - just looked and couldn't find it. I followed the link on thei forum but it said the page didn't exist and it's not listed on search for SE.com...
Any help would be appreciated.
Tom.

I have the latest firmware and it doesn't seem to fix the daylight savings issue.
I work around it by setting my timezone 1 hour ahead, and the phone to winter time (it's actually summer time here at the moment)
Then my appointments show the same time as they are in the PC.

Update service for the S700 now available (UK):
http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&lc=en&ver=4000&template=ps1_ 1_5_7&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10140
Does anyone know if i can use this yet, being on o2? Getting that problem i had with the k700 in receiving messages days late.
Also, how long does the process take. With the DSS-25, a normal mp3 takes 1-2 hours to download.
