Hi,
Just wondering what type of MMC card should be used for the NOKIA 6230.
I have heard that there are brands of cards that will not be compatible with the 6230.
Also what size cards can the 6230 use. Nokia have suggested to me that only to use Genuine Nokia cards at a max of 128MB otherwise you void the warranty of the phone.
I was looking at 256 card.
Please help!!!!!

Losing warranty by using a none Nokia MMC?
I don't think so. Sound more like they try to sell you their overpriced cards.
MMC (not SD) cards up to 512 MB should work, 1 GB can't really be said, they are rare.
It's not only the brand.
I use for my 6600/SX1 a MMC of a very cheap manufacturer (Extrememory - ok, they don't produce themself, they buy overproductions and sell them cheap). Many, many people said "don't use it, cards of this manufacturer won't work.
Mine does work... It's kind of lottery... maybe it will work, maybe not.

You download the mp3's from your computer, onto the phone. You need either a DKU-2 Cable (USB cable), InfraRed device, or BlueTooth adapter to make your computer compatible. You also need the software PC Suite installed on your computer. Once you have these you can upload mp3's and other files from your PC onto your phone/MMC.
As for downloading mp3's from the net onto your computer, well... who doesn't know how and where to download mp3's?

you dont need the suite to download mp3's
You can download photos or mp3 or AAC files from your pc using a MMC card reader.
The phone is able to pic these up when stright copied from your pc.

Oky I maybe a little late to reply to you but what you can also do is get a card reader. My laptop came with one and so did my printer so what I do is I just copy them onto the sd card. As for the max card I read that its 128 and wanted to know if I could get a bigger one after reading the thread I think I can get the bigger one also. As far as I can understand it shouldnt matter how much storage is in the card as long as it follows the sd specs.
