OK, maybe i'm just worrying too much because i don't want to have messed up the *best phone in the world* (lol!) which i've only had for about 3 days. When i got the phone (the K700i), i charged it for about an hour until it appeared to have a full battery, i then left it charging whilst i proceeded to put all my numbers and data and things across from my old phone.

I did not leave the phone charging for 12 hours like you are supposed to - will this affect the battery time? The reason i ask is because i've already had to charge the phone twice from flat - is this because i have been using bluetooth and the MP3 player quite a bit (although not huge amounts)? Does this drain the battery faster than making a call would (thus having a lower battery life than 7 hours when using bluetooth etc.)???

Any help would be appreciated!

As far as I know - so long as you still had it charging up whilst putting the numbers in you should be ok and then left it for the 12hours charging total.

It's also good to let the battery drain completely down before recharging it again so that you can get a clear picture just how long the battery lasts.

But yes - using Bluetooth and the MP3 player does indeed drain you battery quite quickly.....

Not had my one for long either and not started using the mp3 player yet - so not sure just how badly it drains it.

Thankfully - having had the T610 previously I have 2 chargers so can keep one at work and recharge if necessary - and having the blutooth on that switched on constantly I found the battery would only last a couple of days.

Hopefully - someone who's had a K700i for a while longer may be able to advise more...

After reading around more and researching for my k700 dedicated website (PM me if you are interested in the URL) which is getting very popular with the game downloads, forum and so on, i found that the K700 has a firmware problem, so the battery meter has a problem - it goes to red very quickly, then sits with one or two bars of red in the battery meter quite happily for another day or so! Problem solved - the battery is still ok, but the meter simply lies about how much is left!

i'm not entirely sure there is - i'm sure it wouldnt hurt to go to your nearest SE service center and get tyhe latest firmware SW for your phone - it may help, although i don't have the problem as much as i used to now i've used the phone a bit. Weird!?

to see firmware, service tests ect:

(joystick)Right, *, (joystick)Left, (joystick)Left, *, (joystick)Left, *.

Firmware is in the sevice info menu > software info menu!!

My firmware is R2A041.

When I first got it I would need to charge everyday because of MP3, Bluetooth & camera use! I'm getting about 3-4 days at the moment & I think when I start using it normally I will get about 6 days out of it!

My T610, when I first got it, was crap aswel but in the end I was getting about 10 days with no charge!

First time using this forum so here goes:

Some people have suggested that the battery in the K700 is inferior compared to the one used in the T610 (T610 used a Li-Polymer while the K700 uses the not so great Li-Ion). I purchased a desktop charger and spare battery from eBay. The battery was a Li-Poly battery. I was very happy, I thought at least I would have good life from the phone but I can confidently say there is not really any difference, the K700 still drains the battery like a vampire drains blood!

R2E011firmware - The supposed fix of all the problems only fixes the battery indicator (i.e. making it display the correct level, and improves it's power saving functions e.g. turning off the backlight during calls and turning it off quicker) but the actual drain of everything else remains.

Oh and R2E011 has introduced a whole new set of bugs as well but that is probably another topic...
