I would suggest the S55 over the T300 simply because the T300 has alot of faults with it. Mainly, it doesn't have a fully functional calendar.
The S55 on the other hand is like an upgraded T68i. It has Bluetooth, and improves on everything the T68i was lacking.

I want a t610!!!
It's like the t300 and the t68i joined together with a nice screen... I'm not really interested in the camera. I very rarely use it.
Nice colour is the thing that makes my friend's 6610 seem nicer than my t300, even though practically everything else about the t300 seems nicer (polyphonic, the ability to send & recieve pictures, included camera).
I want a t610!

BUT, if you want to be cost effective, then better buy a T310, coz compared to its price, it extremely versatile. The only aspects T610 has been upgraded is its built in camera***, better screen (ehm, MUCH better), a bit more polyphonic instruments... So it has the same functions of the T310, improved. But it depends on your needz. Better tell that to us and then I can provide you an exact model (you want it cheap, good screen quality etc.).
*** this is a very stupid idea. a mobile phone is a mobile phone simply coz its compact and portable. Ergo it gets into your trouser's pocket etc. and most important of all, can be dropped onto the ground and broken. With a built in camera, the phone becomes even more fragile, thus its compactness gets reduced. So, you want a golden egg which you can use as a telephone, or something more compact? This is why I like attachable Communicam solution 10x better. And at least this built in camera problem that I've just written here was solved succesfully by Nokia: with the 7650. You "close" the phone, and the lens of the camera won't be exposed to any external effects...

Go for the S55 it's much more better...it's a way better than the t300 and it even look better and i found hell many applications on the web provided by siemens and many other stuff...acatually it's only defect is the 256 colours screen which is not better than the t300's

What would the point be in upgrading from a t300 to a t310????

You see, I have a T306, and my boyfriend has an S56.... Overall, his is a "better" phone, but mine, overall, is easier to use. And there are things that his phone does that mine doesn't, and vice versa... It really does come down to what you specifically need/want. So give us an idea of what you want, and we'll try to tell you what would be the best one for you....

I wouldn't choose the S55...
1. it has the same resolution and 256 color palette
2. it has hard keypad, using it for a while was a torture for my fingers [but it probably was just the item i was testing, cause my pal doesn't experience that on his one; however, joystick navigation is really a great idea :]]
3. it has worse camera
4. t300 is 20% cheaper. at least here.

Here in sweden the price difference between T300 and S55 is about 50%, in favour of T300....
and i found hell many applications on the web provided by siemens and many other stuff...acatually it's only defect is the 256 colours screen which is not better than the t300's
