HI Guys,
New post here so I hope i'm not violating any rules here 
Anyways I've been searching all day to find a way to unlock my x426 and I stumbled upon it by accident.
I used the data cable and ran Ust v5.6 cracked, oh Phone Model I selected v200 and with the phone on I clicked the Unlock button.
Now I didn't know my phone was actually plugged in so I was just fooling around, but afterwards I tried my TMO Sim card and bam! Unlocked!

Xarthan,
I understand the reason why one might want to unlock thier phone for use on a different providers network but are there any "other" reasons? Also can you tell me where you found the software you used to unlock yours? Having received 2 new phones free with my current 2 year plan I don't see a reason to unlock mine. One more question how do you tell what firmware is on your phone?

I have the software to unlock phones and as far as data cables, it would be easy to find one on ebay that will allow both unlocking and firmware flashing for around $8. I think that was my total with shipping.

I have no idea about the cables. What kind of cable should i be looking for ? Can you give me a specific type/name/brand/model for the samsung X426 ? Is it serial or USB and are they different for data and different for unlocking ?

I will not post unlocking software on this board as I do not know the rules and regs for such items. I will, though, refer you to the site I uploaded it to http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/s/j/sjs342/Cell.htm Look for WinIMEI. As far as specific cables, there are none. The OEM and non-oem cables are both capable of flashing and unlocking, but only OEM cables will allow the use of EasyGPRS (didn't waste my time with that trash  )

Ok tell me this, on the site link u have sent, I don't see any UST5.6 software link. I downloaded Winmei but I am not getting any clue on how to use it. I clicked on the winmei file after downloading the complete package and it comes up some strange window where I don't know how to unlock my phone.
A small tutorial on how to unlock a X426 with 1.6 version will help us dimwits

I took my friend's X427 phone ( Cingular network) and uploaded the Firmware in the pC. Then I downloaded that firmware on my X-426 ( AT & T) and while doing that I got messages like
Verify Data : Detected Difference
for every sector it wrote.
However the phone came up fine but now it is locked to cingular and says "Wrong card" for AT & T. The firmware version now is 1.7 though.
What do you suggest now ?
