After my family's att plan ends, we were thinking that we would switch to sprint pcs, due to that att has like no reception in tampa. After I have looked at the reception guide, I have seen that all the sprint users in tampa say their reception is horrible. So should I change to sprint, stay with att, or move to a different company?
Oh and also, someone told me that samsung phones don't get any reception with sprint, and that sanyos are the best. Is that true?

According to Sprints Service Map -- Tampa IS WELL COVERED.
SEE LINK Here
I have found since selling Sprint that Sanyos in fact due get better reception than there Samsung counterparts. I recommend going to a Sams Club near you and go to their communications center for the best deals on any provider. You can get a Sanyo 8200 for 99.87 on a new contract.

sanyo is a very good phone probally the best I have a samgung vi660/a600 it has great reception its only downfall is it dosen't have an external speaker the ringer comes from the receiving area so when it is closed it is hard to hear the ringer if there is a lot of noise around you even on volume high so I have to turn the volume on high and vibrate so I don’t miss a call but as a Sprint Customer Care Rep I really do not receive complaints on the newer Samsung phone. Samsung 1000 camera phone is a very good phone but Sanyo 8200 is the top selling sprint phone

To your first question, I'm a Sprint customer who lives in Tampa. I live in North Tampa and work in South Tampa. I've had no issues at all with coverage. I am usually the one with the signal in the group to tell you the truth. My husband used to commute to Orlando and we had absolutely no issues there, he now works in St. Pete and again-no issues.
If you go with Sprint I'd recommend the Sanyo phones. They are durable and good quality phones. You may need to upgrade to the extended batteries after a few years because of the mutimedia functions eating up so much power, but other than that they're awesome.
As far as that last guy's post. I have only had 1 bad experience with their customer service. The particular rep I got apparently didn't use English as a primary language. I called back and the new rep I got handled my situation with ease. I've only called tech support once and they upgraded my phone's technology. It was that simple. I've never had an extensive technical issue with them. I think the previous poster just had a bad experience.
Hope that helps.
