icon_devil.gif I have a BIG problem now.
I gat brand new Samsung V205 from T-mobile with the contract for a year
No zoom, no capability to upload pictures and download games to/from PC.
So, I flashed it to V200 using V20XEWC2.s3 ROM, I have got zoom and up/dowload capability but NO SERVICE. Trying manually change bend to GSM 1900 was not successful (I can’t get to it) choosing Manual network selection not giving that band option, I have got message NO NETWORK AVAILABLE.
I decided to restore the phone back to V205 and everything was ok and "All is well".
Then I detach phone from the datacable and get out the battery for about ten seconds and put the battery back on…
PHONE IS DEAD! It’s not responding on power on button and/or charger.
I don’t know what to do now???
Is anyone having some helpful solution?

P.S. is the phone should be unlocked prior to do the flashing?
If so how to do this?

Hi Melloyello,
See my post under the "V200 GRPS network settings" sticky thread regarding WAP and MMS settings for T-Mobile subscribers in the U.S.

i was able to get the reading of the file done and it said all is well. i took out the battery and disconnect from cable and then reattach battery and cable. then opened the file that was just saved, and then clicked on verify. it gets all the way to 99% and then feeds out these lines...

Loading S-record file:
There is 1 memory region in the S-record file:
1: 0x00000000 – 0x00004a4b = 19020 Bytes
Loading S-record file: (file name)
There are 4 memory regions in the S-record file:
1 : 0x00000000 – 0x00000617 = 1560 Bytes
2 : 0x00004000 – 0x00007a43 = 14916 Bytes
3 : 0x00010000 – 0x00567957 = 5601624 Bytes
4 : 0x00700000 – 0x00cbd67f = 6018688 Bytes
Attempt to write to reserved region 0x0 – 0x617 (0x0 – 0x617)
Error code: ERR_BAD_SREC_ADDR
Sorry, an error has occurred ! (ERR_BAD_SREC_ADDR)

i tried it two times and got the same thing. can anybody tell me what i am doing wrong. thanks so much

thanks, after i changed the speed to 115200 it worked like a charm. the only bad thing is that i flashed to v200 so i could send pics to computer through cable. my phonebook and saved text messages came through, but i lost all my pics. did i do something wrong? if i flash back to my saved v205 version, will i get all of my pictures back? another question, the camera looks a lot more distored when taking pics with v200 than v205. can anyone vouch for how the quality of v200 pics compare to v205. thanks.

I can’t reflash! Phone is DEAD, can’t power on the phone.
By the way anyone can answer to this:
Is the phone should be unlocked prior to do the flashing?
If so how to do this?

the pics quality is exactly the same. the camera is the same and you're just changing the software for the phone. it's like taking a picture with a webcam but different software.

the phone doesn't need to be unlocked prior to flashing.

i am also having issues trying to reflash back to v205. since i have nothing saved in v200 software i didnt worry about saving and then verifying the file. So i went straight to tyring to flash my saved v205 file and made sure the speed was at 115200. it flashed the file and upon completion said 'all is well'. then i detached the cable and took battery out. when i put battery back on and tried to turn the phone on to be able to enter the codes, the phone would not come back on at all. is there any settings that need to be different (ie selecting something other than the T1, v200 in the specify hardware platform)
