Hi so does that mean I can buy a LOCKED V205 from T Mobile and after this firmware upgrade (V200 upgrade) I can use it with my cingular service?
Also, the internet (WAP) on my Cingular service is really important to me. Will I be able to use the Internet Capabilities on the phone even after the upgrade? I read somewhere that the T-Mobile locks Cinguialr users out bc its not their default service. Will the V200 upgrade allow me to access the internet?
Fianally, will USB cables work? Or do you guys recommend a serial Cable?
Thank you all so much! I love this forum!

Yes if you have a Cingular Sim to put in the phone you can use it. It's always a good idea to let Cingular know your new IMEI number so they don't think that your SIM/Phone has been cloned.

Once you flash to the V200 firmware you will need to enter all of your wap setting into the phone. You can find the steps to do this in the flashing guide on this site. You will need to know the specific address information required by your provider to interface with their network.

It appears that the majority of the people that are flashing their phones are using Samsung OEM Serial cables. From what you can read in other threads it appears that there are problems getting the USB cable to work properly. I personally haven't tried a USB cable so I can't say from personal experience.

After I followed the instruction and upgraded V205 to V200, I dont know how to key in those reset codes
*2767*STACKRESET# <====*2767*7822573738#
*2767*MEDIA# <====*2767*63342#
*2767*FULL# <====*2767*3855#
*2767*CUST# <====*2767*2878#
*2767*WAP# <====*2767*927#
Could anyone tell me how to do that?

You can enter them how you want when you want. its just to clear your phone to make it clean.

i followed this tutorial precisely http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic1528.html got to H. and verified the backup fine (ok). Then proceeded to flash a new firmware upgrade Part 3). However, it found a difference and logged a data range difference. So I tried flashing the backup that had just been verified 100%, and it came up with the same error. Now i've tried to verify the back up again (as above) but it says there's a difference (err_verify_difference) in the range 0x00000000- 0x00001fff, then logs some random range (0xd9bb5b43 ! = 0x5a7c02df). I'm left with no options - can't flash upgrade, can't flash backup, can't use phone. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried to log onto the 52samsung.com ftp site (using wsftp and ie6) and it will not accept anonymous users. How did you log on?

Can I use USB IRDA instead of serial or USB data cable to flash the firmware from V205 to V200? I could get an USB IRDA at local store instead of bidding for a data cable on ebay. Thanks
