Ok, I've tried the take the battery off thing. I've tried entering the optional codes at the bottom of the tutorial, they all say wrong entry. Do I need to try another flash or a different firmware, or a imei changer, if so where do I get the program? Everything went great for the read, verify and flash, I got all 3 all is wells. But it says no service when I turn it on. This is a v205 unlocked I'm using it on at&t network and worked great except for the wap. That's why I decided to try the firmware upgrade. I was running the oldest firmware under the firmware sticky and flashed to the newest. What Do I do HELP!!!!

Thanks

Has anyone tried flashing the phone with the MA-8220 usb data cable? Does it work? I saw an earlier post, saying that there was "the blue screen of death" which popped up when using this cable(which is the cable i currently own). I'm just hesitant to use it. I fear that it will damage my phone. Any help would be appreciated.

You can flash your phone with a USB cable you'll only need a usb to serial driver http://forums.mobiledia.com/viewtopic.php?p=18370&highlight=usb#18370

Hello all, i'm new to the forum but not new to cell phones , this page just caught my attention. Flashing software is cool but unlocking isnt really that neccessary if you want to use your phone with T-Mobile. I currently own a Samsung V206 which was locked to ATT but I use it just fine with T-Mobile. If that is your case than there is no need to unlock unless you want to use your phone with Cingular services. I've also traveled to 3 countries and used my phone just fine. What is the point of unlocking when most services dont include sim cards? Sprint and Verizon dont. Well i've unlocked 3 phones so far (for my friends) but i dunno if there are any legal problems with that. About flashing your firmware why should you degrade your phone? Like v205 ----> v200? You take away some of the features... of course you gain some but what if you mess up? Money in the trash.... Anyways whats so good about the v200 other than the fact that the camera can zoom? Stick with the v206/205

One step left out in the procedure is to remove any memory regions in the Flash and Verify section of the settings BEFORE you attempt to verify that you have flashed ok or you will get error messages when you try to verify.

I have the same problem u posted in the previous message. I did all those commands to clear the phone setting & and stuff. No matter what I do, I get thge same error:
Attempt to write to reserved region 0x0 - 0x1fff (0x0 - 0x1fff)
Error code: ERR_BAD_SREC_ADDR
Sorry, an error has occured ! (ERR_BAD_SREC_ADDR)

I cannot bypass the verify step. I tried the OptiFlash 3.5.0.2 and 3.6.0.5, choosing the custom T1, V200 respectively SGH-V200 and SGH-V200 Ver E5, on two different PC's. I even left the phone with no power and battery overnight.

One question to all: does the V200 have the picture caller id? Or the only imporvemnt over V205 is the connectivity to your PC (download pictures, etc)?

I also tried the backup and verify my E715, and had no problem.

Phones:
SGH-V205 REv V1.5 / V25UVVL2
SGH-E715 Rev E7 1.8 / E75UVWL2

Thanks.

I am trying it again right now. I was leaving the mem fields with the same ranges when verifying. I took out the ranges, but now I don't know which is which anymore, so I am backing it up again with 3.5. I will verify it after that with mem ranges empty (I guess that's the right way).

I was reading through almost any post I could find on this site about these updates. I still did not find the differences between the V205 and V200, besides some problems with the comera and R (roming).

Could some1, please tell me if the V20BODA1 does have the picture caller id and if this is the right ver to upgrade to from V25UVVL2 for a V205?

Thanks.

Just finished the backup with the mem ranges from the tutorial (for the V205 with OptiFlash 3.6.0.5 and SGH-V200 ver E5 selected). Verifying did complete now with no errors (mem ranges empty). icon_smile.gif

Now waiting on someone to let me know where could I find the differences between V205 and V200 (I am searching arround also).

thx

The V205 is for t mobile only and the V200 is for more and has more features like zoom and uploading the pics via EasyGPRS.
