quick question: everybody says the v200 has only 70 characters for sms. does this include receiving text messages?

Hello w0rm:

The 70 characters for sms must be limited to sending. I received a sms msg sent from my providers website that was in excess of 95 characters. I have NOT tried sending one from my phone in excess of 70 characters yet.

Hope this helps,

Crispy

V205 to V200 Firmware Upgrade Instructions.......

I did all this and the only thing that I can't get to work it si backup. However, I was able to flash the firmware. The problem I have now is: how can I take the R (roamming) out. Is that gonna effect my bill's?

on my side of the planet, when you SEND sms, you can only use 70 characters before it turns into two messages.... you will also notice when you upgrade your firmware the number of characters available for texting (in general - the figure bottom right corner) is reduced as well....

as for recieving text, no problems whatsoever... its the sending part you have to be worried about...

as a frequent texter (former nokia user as well) it is quite difficult to send msgs limited to 70 characters. but who cares. i get unlimited nweis. besides, noticed that the samsung isnt quite as text friendly as nokia fones are...

hope that answers your inquiries...
