Hi have just followed all the instruction to flash my V205 to V200 and got past step h with no problem, so i went on to flash the phone, now when it comes to power up it goes thru steps till it states error code ERR_ROO_MANY_RETRIES and kicks me out!!!
I tried to reinstall the old version from my saved file but i get the same problem. Now i cant turn the phone on.
Can anyone help |
I got the same error, and am wondering if anyone knows how to solve this problem... |
I got that too, however, what I did is make sure the max baud rates for the com port I was on MATCHED the speed you set in OptiFlash. Example for me is Device Manager has max 115200 and OptiFlash has max 115200. This worked for me. But now I have another issue. After flashing, everything works wonderfully, except it now says Cingular as the service provider when I have T-Mobile. When I go to the Network Settings and try to manually select T-Mobile, the only options are AT&T Wireless and Cingular. I seem to be able to call out and get calls in fine though. Will this be a problem?

I have to say thanks to the helpful ppl on this forum. I flashed my 205 without a hitch. The 200 has many cool features. I really like the ability to D/L pictures to my PC without E-Mailing them. I was not really impressed with the zoom characteristics, though. On the phone the picture looks good, but when it's put on your PC or e-mailed, it's just a cropped pic. When you compare a zoomed pic with a non zoomed pic on a PC, the object you zoomed in on is the same size in both pics. The zoomed pic just looks cropped... and small. So, if you're considering flashing for this reason, this is something you should consider. Thanks again.

Last time I talked to customer service at T-Mobile they told me that they had a deal with Cingular to ride on their digital towers. That may be the reason you're seeing Cingular as a viable system.

MrQ....
After you upgraded the firmware (v200) to the Samsung v2-5... are you able to download photos from the phone to the pc using the cable? If you would be kind enough to let me know that and any other options being made available by the upgrade I would appreciate it.

Yes, you will be able to download pictures from the phone to the PC. The 200 Firmware is better than the 205 in my opinion. There are quite a few more options. What is the simlock option in Menu 6.6.5.1? If that is disabled does that mean the sim is unlocked, and I can use a different sim card from another provider??

I tried this and seemed to upgrade fine. However, when i was done the menus were in German and when I put the SIM card back in it tells me "FALSCHE KARTE" Which I assume means something along the linesthat it isn;t reading my SIM card correctly or that it thinks my SIM card is the wrong one. Any thoughts on this. i used the firmware available for download on the first post of this thread.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
