Mine is doing the same thing. have u got any way to resolve this as yet because i have done all that i could possibly think of but it still does the same thing over and over again.

There is one thing that i notice though, when i select "flight mode" the phone works fine. once i activate the "telephone" its starts the rebooting.

so i want to know whether there is some way of replacing the files for the telephone with those of another working P900?

u guys wudnt happen 2 have any "dodgy" software on the fone, because that will cause problems, a fullmaster reset via the service menu and reinstalliation/installiation of latest firmware should do the trick 4 u

Sorry to say but, i have tried that so many times. it works ok for a couple of minutes then it does it all over again. now it has gotten so bad that its not going past the power menu.

This morning i switch it on and its just not coming on anymore. i spoke to my local sonyericsson dealer and they advised me to replace the PCB or mother board. now i have to locate one to purchase. they are trying to get a costing for me.
in the mean time can you give me any info where i could buy one. i would apprceiate that very much.

that should be covered under manufacturers warranty if you physically havent caused the problem

You can reflash the phone to the latest software (and then don't perform a "restore" afterward so as to keep whatever is messed up from returning to the phone.)

Go to http://www.sonyericsson.com/updateservice/P900/frameset.htm

You're problem is the configuration of the operating system which is @!&%#. You'll have to format the internal memory. Don't worry, the operating system will re-install automatically. You'll loose all the contacts in you're agenda, all the messages, installed aplications, etc... The phone memory will be like in a new p900. Note that after this format, the only available language is english. There is NO way to undo the format.
I recommand this as the last methode to save you're phone. You should go to a SE dealer first, maybe is another simpler way (that is if you have some document of ownership of the phone. If not, get ready for the ultimate restore-factory-default reset of the phone. This is NOT the master reset from the menu.
First, eject the memory stick
So access the service menu.
Flip closed-mode:
JogDial <Up>
key <*>
JogDial <down>
JogDial <down>
key <*>
JogDial <down>
key <*>

Then service functions
The phone will ask if you want to format
Yes,
Restart
Yes
Then it will probabily show an error, continue anyway.

AFTER the process is complete and the phone is like new, restart the phone.
Insert the memory stick
Install Sman 1.3(free) (download http://renegade.w3xs.com/)
Access the fn menu (upper right corner)-modules-file manager, access drive d: (memory card) and delete the system folder (this contains information about the installed programs and you don't need it anymore as the phone won't reconise previos installed programs, or will give errors.
And you're done, the phone will work like new and you will have more space as a lot of temp and junk files (as support for chineese language) will be deleted.
