go to this webpage http://bitpim.sourceforge.net/ and download bitpim v. 0.7.14 get a data cable and bitpim has the instructions to get rid of it

I once removed that banner by dialing *228 and "programming your phone", but then like a month later, i tried it again just because, and the damn banner came back!!! Anyways, im in the same boat as u guys now, and would also like to know how to remove the banner without a data cable...
