I recently brought a Samsung E800. A brillant little fone with little problems. Well one really big problem with the phone is that it dosent cum with ne software or even a cable to connect it to a computer. I had a try of using the infre-red port on the phone to connect using the infre-red port on my copmuter. It does connect, but I whenever I send files to the phone its says invalid data.
My next thought was to buy a USB lead that was supposed to be used with the E700, but still can be used with the E800. There was a driver that came wit it, and it seemed that the phone was finally connected to the PC. Using a old version of EasyStudio that came with the USB lead, it read and showed the phonebook, sms etc. BUT i cudnt send things like ringtones and images to the phone.
So I got a newer version of EasyStudio, but now it wont pickup the phone at all in the program.!!!. Ive chked the Samsung site for ne drivers, programs etc but nothing was on the site.
Cud ne1 pls help wit tis, I no its a bit of a long shot since the phone has cum out.
P.S Soz for the long thread.

are you sure you dl'd the lastest easy studio from:
http://www.samsung.com/support/productsupport/download/FileView.aspx?c ttfileid=195553&type=Mobile+Phone&typecode=&subtype=SGH&subtypecode=&c mssubtypecode=&model=SGH-E800&filetype=SW&language=&LSSI=/module/SSI/l eft/LMenu_MobilePhone_SGH.sec&RSSI=/module/SSI/right/RMenu_MobilePhone .sec#
i use winxp pro... seems that without easystudio the pc does detect the phone, but you definately need the sfw. i guess you allready switched your port to IrDA in the settings...
when you want to exchange files you should use the file manager wich can be accessed through the "extra" option....
