Can anyone pm, where I can get this program. I currently have a samsung x426 with firmware 1.6, I am sure a lot of people are in need of unlocking this phone with this new firmware. I have spent several hours on google searching for it, and it seems like a couple of places did have it, but they were requested to remove the link. I appreciate any help you guys can provide. Thanks.

Unlocking = Removing the SIM lock.
Firmware = The OS of your phone.
What's a SIM lock?
A simlock is a lock programmed into a mobile phone which allows only one company's SIM to be used in the phone. Simlock is also referred to as SP Locks or Network locks.
About SIM: SIM is short for Subscriber Identity Module. There are two different sizes used for GSM phones, one is the same size as a credit card and the other is about the size of a stamp. Both cards contain the same electrical circuits, it's only the plastic surrounding it that differs. The advantage of the bigger card is that is easier to swap cards, while the small card might slip between your fingers. However, the small card makes it possible for the manufacturer to build even smaller phones.
Unlocking your SIM card will allow you to use other service providers' SIM card. For example if you have an ABC GSM phone you can put in an ABC SIM card only. But if the SIM is unlocked, you can opt for any other SIM card.
How to verify whether your phone has Simlock?
SIM Card Lock makes the phone function with one single card. If your SIM card malfunctions, you'll have to return both the card and phone.
In case of pre paid cards, if the SIM gets blocked due to wrong entry of pin-numbers and overriding further instructions and wrong entry of PUK-Number,the SIM is irreparable and the loss is irrecoverable. One might have to purchase a new one.
For post paid card, one has to contact customer care center for further guidelines. Some clarification/documents as required by them has to be provided.
SIM locks vary considerably from country to country. One extreme is Finland where providers are not allowed to lock the phone at all (it is considered hindering real competition). While many other countries prohibit locking, others allow locking only for the duration of a service contract.
If you place any card other than the one that the phone accepts, you get a message such as 'Incorrect Card' or 'SIM Card not accepted' or 'Enter Special Code'.
Once your simlock is removed you can place any (dependent on phone model) SIM card into it including foreign networks in case you carry the phone abroad.
