Hi, I'm new to this board, and new to this phone.
How do i go about assigning a ringtone that i have transferred via bluetooth to a person in my contacts folder on a Nokia 6600?
I can see how to assign one of the default nokia ringtones, but not one of my transferred ones.
If i need 3rd party programs, can you tell me which ones, i shall source them, of if it's just button pressing, can you tell me which ones.
I hope i can get a clear answer soon.
Cheers,
Vinc.

Open the contacts, open the person and select ringtone. Now you can select every ringtone you want.
Precondition: You've saved the ringtones you've transfered in your gallery in sounds in "digital tones" or at least in the sounds folder.
And be sure you use a supported format.

How do i save them in to the digital tones? When i transfer them they just end up in Messaging-Inbox.
The tones i have are from a site for download to a PC, for the 6600, then transfer them through bluetooth

Open it like you would open any other message and select options and select save, it will be automatically saved in the correct folder.

Fantastic, i can save the mid files, but not the mp3 one. Thats what the problem was. It's ok, I can get a midi version.
Cheers,

You could convert the mp3 in wav.
wav-files are supported by the 6600.
But don't use CD-Quality settings or something like that... 16Khz, 8bit, mono is enough. Could also try 16bit.
