Thanks HueMann! icon_biggrin.gif

After much googling and frustration I found your excellent tutorial and managed to get a vibrating ringtone working first time. So cool how they go in time with the music.

Thanks again.

Listen closely!

The trick goes like this.

You got your wav.

Open it in WIDI 2.7. WIDI is a wav to midi converter. It will not create a perfect copy of the wav and this doesn't matter. All you need is the midi for the vib/led.

So convert the wav to midi by clicking on Process/Go!
Save it and close the program.

Now open YAMAHA ATS-MA3-SMAF.

Click on the green folder to open the midi.

You see an "Mixer" button beside the piano looking "Voice List" button, click on it and lower the volume on all the channels to 0.
We don't want to hear the midi!

Now choose which channel or channels you want the vid and/or led to be effected by.

Now click on the Paino Roll button.
You see 2 channels marked with a red square.

In Ch1 is where you will put your wave.
Do this by clicking on Window/Stream PCM Assign Map.
A little window will open.
Right click under FS in ch1 and open your wav.

Now drag and drop the wav into CH1 in the piano roll window.

Allign the wav nicely so that it touches the the begining of the row.
The wav IS to long! ((It always is)) you will have to scroll to the end of the wav and grab the END of the wav and drag the end back to where you see the mid notes end.

MID NOTES? you ask!

You see the mid notes as I call them as little red squares all over the place above the wav channel you are working on.

Once you have shortend the wav you can play the tune to hear if you have shortend the wav to much or not enough.

Once that's done and you're satisfied with the allignment,,

(((save!)))

You have just made a voice.mmf with vib and led!

hi, i tried Right click under FS in ch1 and open your wav. but it promp me an error msg.
saying cannot convert sound file. must be under 12k Hz

so what can i do to bring it down.
can help me by providing details?

ps: i am not very good in all these prog. pls go slow and teach me step by step if possible.
thks a millionnnnnn.....

when you made or saved the wav you need to save it "As" 16bit 8000Hz . The 8000Hz is where you're getting the error.

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and find it quite interesting. Kudos to you! I have a couple of problems though.

I just downloaded YAMAHA ATS-MA5-SMAF since the MA3 version is no longer available. In this version I cant find where to set the volume of the midi to 0.

Except for setting the midi vol to 0, all went well according to your tutorial. The new mmf file does not vibrate though. Any suggestions?

Can anyone tell from where can we download widi 2.7 or widi 3.0 ( not widi 3.2 or widi 3.21 ).
I'm not asking you Huemann. I know you don't want to. If anyone else can tell me or send me the soft I'll be very gratefull.
Thanks in advance.

Dear HueMann,

I can't believe that you haven't understood what I said many times in this topic.
I said that it isn't possible to download widi 2.7 from the links you gave.
Try yourself and you'll see. When the download has finished it's not widi 2.7 which is downloaded.
It's widi 3.2. I said it before. The same thing is happening with whatever I tried.
You seem to say I haven't searched enough even if I said that I did all I could.
Widi 2.7 or widi 3.0 are no more possible to download from the sites you gave
neither from the sites given by google. I think you know it.
I've never said you were bad. But isn't it simplier if you upload your widi 2.7 on the forum so as we can download it without cutting hair in four.

Thanks you HueMann, I'm Sure you're not bad. icon_biggrin.gif
