Open it in WIDI 2.7. WIDI is a wav to midi converter. It will not create a perfect copy of the wav and this doesn't matter. All you need is the midi for the vib/led.
So convert the wav to midi by clicking on Process/Go!
Save it and close the program.
Now open YAMAHA ATS-MA3-SMAF.
Click on the green folder to open the midi.
You see an "Mixer" button beside the piano looking "Voice List" button, click on it and lower the volume on all the channels to 0.
We don't want to hear the midi!
Now choose which channel or channels you want the vid and/or led to be effected by.
Now click on the Paino Roll button.
You see 2 channels marked with a red square.
In Ch1 is where you will put your wave.
Do this by clicking on Window/Stream PCM Assign Map.
A little window will open.
Right click under FS in ch1 and open your wav.
Now drag and drop the wav into CH1 in the piano roll window.
Allign the wav nicely so that it touches the the begining of the row.
The wav IS to long! ((It always is)) you will have to scroll to the end of the wav and grab the END of the wav and drag the end back to where you see the mid notes end.
MID NOTES? you ask!
You see the mid notes as I call them as little red squares all over the place above the wav channel you are working on.
Once you have shortend the wav you can play the tune to hear if you have shortend the wav to much or not enough.
Once that's done and you're satisfied with the allignment,,
(((save!)))
You have just made a voice.mmf with vib and led!

y does samsung have to make it's users lives a living hell? i mean, come on! what's wrong with having midi files for ringtones? or even a voice recorder that allows u to record stuff and using them as ring tones! i hate nokia's, but gotta admit, they actually make phones easier to personalize! with samsung, my god, the hassel of trying to do all of that shit always ends up with me messing up the computer cuz something always goes wrong.

Well, since you jumped the gun there a little with your harsh statements.... maybe you should know that midi files ARE allowed on the samsung phones, but do not include built in vibra and led. There is also no recorder on nokia phones to make into a ringtone, that is Nextel (usually moto made) phones. It is mp3s that are allowed, but only on certain models. You should be happy samsung allows voice tones which are supposed to be unavailable
-EDIT- Features depend on models. That is obvious. If you want something, you have to find a phone that has it. Based on that, you pick the phone with the best overal setup for you. If you are unhappy with your phone, don't blame the maker. Blame it on not getting the right phone. Given some features will never be available, but that is the price you pay. As for nokia, I have had them and they are not easier to personalize. I have never had a custom menu system and never had a flashing led to get my attention that a text was received. Actually most nokias don't even have half the quality either. Sure they are now in color, but the pixelation is nothing compared to Samsung. I think even my sony ericsson has been more customizable than the nokia. But this is only when you compare price range too. You can't compare a 3390 to a p900 or am e316 to a t306 and expect to not see a great difference

midi, not allowed on all of them, certainly not on e700. and not all nokia phones, but some do have voice recorders and yes, they use these files as ringtones. if i didn't know that, i wouldn't have mentioned it now would i??
in addition, if i hated samsungs that much, i wouldn't be an owner. and since i am one, i have the right to moan and complain about how crappy it is not to be able to do stuff as much as i want.

Well, I tried being nice, but obviously for some people that is a bigger problem than just being straight. Like I said, help us out or just get out. Not a hard choice.
So do you have an alternative way to add vib to voice, because I already have the mmf and I don't have the wav any longer?
Back to the topic, thanks for the GREAT how-to on adding vib. I plan to try it for a ringer I had on my phone that I stopped using because it didn't have vib. Thanks again

What do you mean you can't change it from 44 to 8 or 16? Have you tried the Yamaha wav to mmf converter, the newest one will automatically convert it to an mmf and convert the frequency all at once. If you prefer to do the conversion before, though, you can open sound recorder (default accessories app in windows) and open your wav. Go to properties under file, and click convert now and select the setting for your wav.
By the way, I can help you, buddy
