I tried the Spanish site and found the link ,downloaded and hooked my phone up with the USB, and nothing!

All I want to be able to do it take pictures from pc and put on my phone (is that possible?) and ringtones. And vice versa, take pictures from the phone to the pc.

I think first you have to get your modem recognized by your pc. If you have ME or 98 SE sometime it require you to go in to manager device and go to usb section and clear out all the usb controller stuff then with your phone trun on and usbcable hook up to pc click the refresh button . By now your pc will look and replace all the things that was clear ou and then it will see you phone modem and may ask for usb driver just point it to your MPT. Once you have that it should work. Hope this help icon_razz.gif icon_redface.gif icon_razz.gif

Now that I've got the mp3's figured out, I'd like to clear out some of the crap pictures and sounds installed defaultly. Does anyone know how I can do that? I've tried marking them and selecting delete all marked but it never deletes them. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hey, a fellow Torontonian! (Me: Scarborough, Motorola c650, Rogers)

If you don't want to use Bluetooth, the only other 2 options are WAP (connect to internet on phone, can get expensive, as you get charged for it) and mini USB. The v220 should have mini USB. You need the 5-pin mini USB cable that comes with most digital cameras, or with other accessories (mine came with a flash card reader). (If you don't have, you can buy one cheap some places in Toronto, maybe $5-10).

The softwares you will now need are as follows: Mobile Phone Tools (MPT) for pics and audio, MIDway and JADgen for games (*if you want, that is), and Motorola PST for drivers. Luckily these are all available at www.motclub.com. (Though the site is all in Spanish). Go to "Programmes" in the menu bar, and get BOTH versions, install the older one, then "upgrade" to the new one. Then install PST. When you first plug in the phone via USB, windows will look for drivers. XP should find it automatically, if not, send it to look in the prog. files/motorola/pst folder for it. I never got it to work on Win98... never detected drivers... piece of crap.

To make your CD music into MP3, simply use Windows Media Player (Copy Form CD). I suggest putting the setting on the lowest quality, this is only a cell phone speaker, and low memory capacity (the c650 is only 1.5 mb!!).
To edit/cut the mp3, search www.download.com for the right software, there are tons of different ones. (Search audio or MP3 editor).

Once you have everything ready, plug in the USB, fire up MPT, and click on the media manager. From there, simply load your audio/video/picture files on or off your phone, from/to the appropriate folder!!

If you need any more help, just leave another message here, or your e-mail address and I'll be glad to help.

Hi

I have a V220 and I spent some time last nite ripping a track from cd to mp3 then edited a 10 second clip to put onto my phone. I plugged in my data cable, fired up MPT, browsed to the audio folder and dragged the file over. No problem. It's just that when I try to play it on my phone or set it as ringtone I get the message 'File has unidentifiable information. Delete?' - what am I doing wrong?!

Cheers

Hello I am new here. I would appreciate it if someone could send me the files needed to move pictures and mp3s from the V220 to my computer and vice versa.

I tried the spanish site and downloaded version 1.23 of MPT, but I can't get any of the links for the updated version to work. The BVRP site doesn't work for me either. I also downloaded motorola PST 6.7, and I am not sure what this program is for. I can see other people have had success, but trying to get it to work is frustrating for me.

Thanks for the help.
Cheers

I have been trying to get this to work for a while now, i got all three programs:
-the old MPT
-updated to the new one
- and installed the PST.

The problem is when I plug my phone in and load up MPT the program it does not detect the phone automatically, it asks me to select my phone model but it is not in the list. I tried selecting a few other models, like the generic GSM and a few others but when the main app loads there is no media manager in the toolbar or whatever the thing is to the right of the phone.

Can anyone help me out?
or send me the appropriate files if I dont have the right ones?
or maybe post some screenshots throught the setup process?

I have some gmail invites for you if you dont already have one!

Thanks for your time.
