I have been waiting patiently for the se s710a and I've heard that it will be launched December 1. Do you have any confirmation? It isn't on cingular;s site for video phones eventhough it is a much nicer phone (http://www.cingulartrendforce.com/trendforce/index.html?fuseaction=to ols.invlink&u=Alex723&linkID=37)

Hi,
I'm about to get the $39.99 plan. However, next year, I'll get a job and use my cell phoone more frequently.
Is it easy to change my plan to say 49.99 or 59.99? How's that going to work?
Are they gonna charge me anything?
Thanks

Cingular PAC:
I have a question or two regarding the "quiet recall" of the Motorola V600 for Cingular GSM service. I didn't know that there even was a widescale problem with the V600s until I found a thread on this website. My phone is one of the 5-10% that needs to be replaced. I have several dropped calls every day, poor signal strength, and lately my phone has started to hang up during a conversation and un-register with the towers, and is unable to reregister for a half hour (doesn't even say "Cingular" when I open it up). Clearly, my V600 needs to be replaced.
I payed a lot of money for my V600, as did a lot of people, and I would like a NEW (ie NOT refurbished) replcement V600. Sounds fair, right? I've talked to Cingular and I get different answers from everyone I talk to. Some tell me straight up that I'll be getting a refurbished phone, others tell me that I might get a new or refurbished phone and there's no way to tell.
I just want what I know I deserve -- a brand new phone that works. Its not my fault these phones can't communicate well with the towers.
I have a LONG, documented call history with Cingular about this topic.
Is there any way I can be guaranteed a BRAND NEW replacement V600? Is some arm-twisting necessary? Would talking to a supervisor help?
Thanks in advance,
-- Marty

I was wondering if I could call Cingular's Customer Service and ask that my phone (Motorola T720, got it in summer of 2003) be unlocked... or if I have to do it through one of those websites...

I have a V600 I got from the UK before they were lauched here. The flex I had wouldn't reset the message waiting indicator after I listened to a voice mail - very frustrating.
I made a contact through Cingular that put me in touch with Motorola and they put the Cingular software on my phone. Unfortunately, that eliminated some of the menu options on my phone and left me the same software you're complaining about.
I'm not sure if there's an additional deficiency in the phone, but you could try looking around into modifying your phone. I found a version of the flex that does a much better job at switiching towers, can use phone memory for the SMS's, and with a couple modifications to the seems, now have looking the way I want. You may want to check out howard forums - it will breathe all new life into the way you use/view your phone and service.

Hi,
i have a Samsung X427 mobile. A friend of mine brought it from the US. Was given for unlocking with a Phone company locally (FIJI). I guess they messed up something with it. The problem is that i can insert a local Sim card in it, able to see all my contacts but there is a "No Service" error meaning no network coverage. Would you have ne ideas as to how can i get this phone back 2 factory settings and unlock it afterwards or maybe something similar. Any help would be appreciated.

The problems is with the hardware. The Samsung you note only supports North America frequencies (i.e., 850/1900 mhz). According to GSM world, the Vodaphone network in Fiji operates on 900 mhz. The [unfortunate] answer is that your phone doesn't support the frequency operated by Vodaphone in Fiji.
I'm having this prob with my V200. In my inbox, it doesn't show up with the name of the sender of my SMS' even though I have their numbers saved in my phone book. It only comes up as their mobile number...so I don't know who it's from without going through the phone book!
Please help!!
